Dude, this was super helpful. I watched this twice, grabbed a 8mm wrench from the local hardware store, and 30 mins later I had it apart, cleaned out, and put back together. Thanks bro

Bro this video saved my life. Just bought a 2014 F150 a week ago and then outta nowhere my AC starts making a loud humming/vibration when turning up the fan. Was about to take it to the dealer but stumbled across this and thought I’d give it a shot. Sure as shit! A big old piece of plastic was in the blower fan. Quick 20 min fix and we’re back baby! Thanks for sharing!

Man I just fought with those three damn 8mm screws for half the damn day, I’m a big guy, was kinda hard to contort my body to get up in there like I needed but I finally got Er done.. turns out that same piece broke off inside as everyone else has discovered. Works like a charm now, and free of charge👌🏾 Thank you

Thank you for putting this video up. It really is a simple process removing the fan, HOWEVER, being a big guy with big hands this took an extra level of patience and time. Not sure how the gum wrapper got sucked in and am especially perplexed by the 3/4 inch piece of rubber (looks like some sort of cap) that was in there as well. Working like a charm now. Thanks again!

Exact same problem in my 2014 Ford F-150. Video was great help. Got the front two screws out with a short handle ratchet and a short extension with an 8mm socket. The third screw closest to the firewall was a bear. Tried everything and then ordered an extra-long flex-head ratcheting wrench, but was able to use a short handle 8mm boxed end wrench to work the screw loose. Found a piece of tubing end, probably from assembly that unbalanced the fan. Reassembled and ran quietly. Saved a big repair bill by doing this myself, but it was a real chore.

You’re my hero! Your video is perfect. Two hours, zero dollars. The local dealership said it would probably be $250.

I wanted to say thank you for this video. I really appreciate it and your time. I’m here in Canada and I had a short window of opportunity where the winter wasn’t as cold. I was able to find the debris and removed it which took me 15 minutes and the fan was working great. Thanks again.

I just fixed my 2012 F150 by watching this video. It was super helpful down to the suggestion of using a speed wrench. Tissue had gotten sucked up in to the blower. Thanks!

Have a 2010 that was making the same noise. Very simple fix. Like you said three screws, fold the carpet back to get the blower out, and pull out debris. In all took about 20 min. Thanks for the video!
@justinthomas4442 Жыл бұрын
dude! Thanks bro! This video was exactly what I needed. I had some rubber/plastic cap that was from the truck somehow end up in there. Was causing some serious noise/vibration but did exactly what u said, removed those 3 screws, removed the fan and boobam, there it was laying inside the fan. You're awesome brotha, you saved me a chunk of money doing it myself.

Thanks partner! I'm from Texas as well. Sure enough a cigarette wrapper from the previous owner, he had wood screws in 2 of the 3 holes. Quick trip to Lowes to get the proper hardware and she is running quiet. Thanks again!

Thanks a ton. Had a piece of rubber stuck in my blower. That back screw is what took the longest to get out.

Same year truck and same exact sound! Thanks for giving me a place to start looking. I'll let you know how it works out. Okay, took forever getting that far back screw off. Very little space to maneuver a tool and your hands. Found a round object that looked like it broke off from something else and landed in the fan. If I could add a picture I would.

Thank You going to work on mine tomorrow. Was thinking I would have to replace blower motor but hopefully now having seen this and read comments it’s just debris.

Thank you so much for your videoclip im sure you saved me at least $300 not taking it to the shop. Your video was great showing tools needed, the 8mm ratchet wrench is required as you instructed, i couldn’t find one with swivel head as yours but wrench with out it works as well. Got motor removed and found small piece of plastic, put motor back in and works great now, thanks!!

This video saved my ass, I didn't want to take it to the dealership to spend $200 + to get it fixed. It turns out it was a plastic piece that broke off. Very helpful vid

Hey bud, thanks a lot, my 2015 Expedition started making a loud roar too, in my case it was a straw wrapper from Sonic. I'm not that talented, but I bought metric swivel heads and it took 45 minutes to an hour. Very helpful!

I found the exact same piece in my blower. Thank you for the video! Ford should do a recall! Three 8 mm hex head size screws hold in blower motor. Remove back screw first and reassemble with back screw last which is most difficult to access.

Thank you !!!!!!!!!!Ford garage would have been $300.(Oh, it was a piece of candy wrapper)

Thanks, Bud. I''ll have to see if that's what it is. Just replaced my motor. The new one worked fine for the first few days and then all-of-a-sudden started doing the same thing at the 3 and 4 speeds. The 1 and 2 speeds are fine with no issues. At least I hope that's what it is. I am a native Houstonian, so I know quite well the 900% humidity thing. Take care.
