Might I add that it really compels me that they aren't in the US already. In 2009, General Motors released a concept for the Pontiac G6 that was going to be the American Commodore Ute. The car was supposedly going to go into production in 2010. Unfortunately, Pontiac closes their doors before the vehicle had a chance to go into production. So it really surprised that they didn't use the concept under a still existing brand today like Chevrolet or GMC.

I do wish they would come to the United States under the Chevrolet El Camino nameplate. GM is known for reviving older models, and typically they are quite popular. Take the Camaro for example. when they unveiled the concept in 2008, people fell in love with the car. I think the reason was mostly because of the nostalgia from having a brand new Camaro again. Well, if we bring back a model name from the 1970s/80s, I feel like it will have success because of the nostalgia. GM doesn't realize the potential for these in the United States.

Like u said, they had one, one of the most popular "ute" in the world, the el camino. Why dont they just remake it.😭

It needs updating to the interior and body. You could sell these here. Offer the caddy blower and awd. Keep the Holden moniker.

И VF-ка тоже в Виктории собирается. Ну честно при всей своей компактной и более модной внешности, Falcone всё равно как то более сдержанее смотрится.

Holden is the most American company every it just disguises itself as Australian but it is owned by GM which is strongly based in the motor city Detroit this is a corvette designed as a el Camino.

Why is this not in the US?
@kanob644010 жыл бұрын
There's "no market for it". People wouldn't buy them.
@Konformation0710 жыл бұрын
Zavon Beed uh no people would buy them but the manufacturers are lazy and they wouldn't market it like other cars then it doesn't sell because people don't know that it's available. That doesn't mean there is no market when people are ignorant to its very existence. I don't want a truck as I don't need one but I still haul stuff quite a bit.

This is literally the most American car yah yah you can say Holden is Australian yes it is but Holden is a subsidiary of GM which is American and this has the same body design of the El Camino but with the performance of the Corvette with the same LS3 6.2L V8 that's in the Corvette so it's basically a corvette in a El Camino costume I can't believe they haven't brought it here to the US because it's a GM car they need to bring it here.

Please for my ears use Horsepower and ft-lbs for engine power!
@decipherer278210 жыл бұрын
Dear David, I also relate to horsepower & ft lb torque figures probably better than KW & NM. CarsGuide still do not realise that they need to cater for an international viewers on the web. Here are the numbers that you required:- The SSV Redline 6 litre (370 cu in) V8 provides a power rating of 362 BHP and 390 Lb-Ft torque. Also I might add that my SSV Redline Sedan with 6 speed manual transmission will rocket 0 - 62 MPH in 4.8 seconds, top end >150 MPH. But it is also a very good car around corners and has good Brembo Brakes. Around town in traffic you can expect around 19 MPG but take it out on the highway and it just idles and returns 34 MPG!!!!. My ex-company Subaru Liberty drank more fuel than that. So why bother with this and other Asian Cars....they are too expensive to cruise on long distance trips, and they are cramped, lack the power for safe overtaking, and no room for the luggage for (4). They are just little city commuter cars. HOLDEN - DRIVE ON.

Decipherer Thanks for the reply HOLDEN Rules! because its GM!!!! wish Holden would be made for canada.....
@decipherer278210 жыл бұрын
David Ricard G'day, My son has been so impressed with the new VF Commodore SSVR that he is considering the VF SV6 ( 3.6 litre V6) Storm Ute with 6 speed manual transmission, the engine will be slightly worked with a set of extractors, cold air induction, and re-programmed chip. It should give around 0-60 mph in 6 seconds, whilst delivering an economy of > 30 mpg. What a hoot! it is a sports truck, that could knock off a hot Euro hatch! But, do it for less $$$$ and be a REAL SUV!! The cousins in the USA want them desperately, after seeing Rob Trubiani -Holden SSV R Ute Test Driver - do a World Record Lap around Nurburgring Circuit in Germany...faster than an E46 BMW M3. I think it would be wise for our Commonwealth Brothers in Canada, and our cousins in the USA to email / write to GM Detroit addressed to Mr Bob Lutz and Mark Ruess. Both of these fine gentlemen were former CEO's of GM Holden in Australia.
