I have a 2014 also. Black is faster naturally but blue is my 2nd favorite. I have Corbin seat too. I went for touring backrest. I agree the highway pegs that mount to engine plate will be better. I don’t run a windscreen but it’s not too windy up here in West Texas. It’s great to find a fellow Valkyrie rider! We’re few and far between.

Willis McVean thanks! The Valkyrie lineup has always been one of my favorites. That 1500cc carbureted bike is fast as hell! I dig the 14 and it’s style, but there’s not much in the way of pipes for it. Drilling them out was one of my only options. Straight pipes on an 03 Valkyrie sound ten times better!

Ive got the blue 2014....bought it in early 2015 for... $12,600....if i would have waited, could've save $2000 ..just couldn't wait..you're right.... 6 gears would be the ticket ... I think the turn signals and the horn should be switched...that horn is loud and a great safety feature

Mark Baum this is the only good deal I ever got on a bike! And I wish it had 6 gears too! But look at it this way, you could have paid $16k like a lot of guys did in 2014/15. And the bike is amazing so that’s a bad deal really. Thanks for the comment and be safe out there.

Just picked up a 2014 myself in black (the fastest color), with 108 miles on it for $8500. What a beast! I like the stock sound, having never been one to care much for noise. As a CTX rider also, I find the bars just a little too short and I have to lean forward more on this one. I really don't see the "boobs" thing. Honda designed it to look like the shoulders of a raging bull, which is how I see it. And the Corbin seat is not to my liking. I think the stock seat looks way cool. To me, the Corbin seat looks like a whale's underside. It just doesn't flow visually like the stock. There isn't a lot of room on the bars for accessories, so you have to choose wisely. Once you have a windshield mounted, it only leaves room for a phone mount and maybe one other thing. I have my X-grip and a windshield, and now I want to put on a power port and a cup holder and it's going to be a challenge. But this is one awesome bike. I know the looks are polarizing but I think it looks killer, like a streetfighter. You don't find this kind of speed and torque on too many bikes, and the bike will take on just about any other motorcycle, except those that are built for pure speed. It will even beat many Porsches. Safe riding and keep giving us videos of your rides and mods!
@BigSmittyRiding

Thanks and you are right these bikes are amazing! I’m so used to loud bikes that I just had to play with the exhaust. And the stock seat hurt my back way to much. Quite a few people like it but I just wasn’t comfortable. Thanks for the comment and it’s nice to see another Valkyrie rider out there!

Thanks for the comment and congrats on the new bike! You’ll love it! The OEM part number from Honda is PART#: 08V70-MCA-S41 for the fog lamp kit. You may find a cheaper kit but this is the one I’m running. The windshield is a Gustafson Plastics model. Does a great job of keeping wind off the chest but I do get some buffeting on my head. I recommend going with the tall windscreen to elevate that. Their website is www.bikescreen.com Good luck and I hope my answer helps.

The Blue is sick. I’m not digging the exhaust. On the fence with the shield, if it’s functional, It gets my vote. Corbin seat looks good. I’ve had Corbin, they cost too much for what you get….but still nice seats. Valkyrie is a badass bike. I have a 2000. I’d like to ride the 14. I had a GL1800 and loved the bike/motor. I enjoy cruising on the Valkyrie like no other bike. I wish they would have given the 2Gen Valkyrie twin headlights opposed to what it is…still a awesome bike. I would def want a full exhaust. where do you drill the pipes ? all underneath ? how many different drill holes did you put in??
@BigSmittyRiding
@BigSmittyRiding 3 жыл бұрын
Drilled from the slip on. Started with a 1/4” starter hole in the dummy piles and then went to a 1/2”. There’s 2 sets in each dummy pipe to drill out. The first one gets pretty good sound. Behind it you will find a 2nd backing plate to drill through. Same routine as the first. Some people only drill one of the 2 backing plates out and it sounds much better than stock. I drilled both because I’m just an odd ball... but I like how it sounds with them both drilled out.

It just takes a little patience… which I don’t usually have. I bought new drill bits and just took my time. It sounded much better after the holes were drilled. There’s 2 sets of holes to drill in each dummy pipe. So I bought the extended length drill bits. The first o e will give you good sound. The second one will really improve the sound. Good luck!

Justin Abbott cool. That’s a pretty area. I’m in the east side of Houston... not a pretty area until you get away from the city.

@@BigSmittyRiding if you have Facebook there are some pretty informative Honda Valkyrie groups on there, 1800 Valkyrie is one I'm in, and they have a lot of good stuff.

I have so far. Just drilled out the slip ons but I’m afraid removing the cats would reduce the back pressure too much.

honda 1800 without cruise control? No thanks. Not for me

I feel ya. I put a brake away cruise control unit on it for $120 and it was awesome. Lack of a 6 speed overdrive transmission is what really killed it for me. Still a really solid bike though. Thanks for watching.
