2014 JEEP CHEROKEE IGNITION SWITCH REPLACEMENT (2014-2022)

In this video we will be replacing a pesky ignition switch/module. This ignition switch is a bit different from your usual one because any key of its type will fit in and turn. FYI, if you have a 2014 jeep Cherokee Overland, at least the diesel version, you don’t need to take out a separate AC panel cover

I think I'm having the same problem with my Ignition. No click no start.. Thought it was the starter checked fuses nothing. A mobile mechanic says it's 70% chance it could be the Ignition switch. I have the 2014 cherokee latitude 3.2l. The only thing the remote does is lock the door I don't have power anywhere else when I put the key in or anything.

@Josh Bourassa yes Bro it does sound like your ignition switch, I would definitely recommend replacing it. You can always buy one and plug it in and try it, and if it doesn't work you can return it. But it definitely sounds like that's your issue

How did you know the ignition switch was bad, im having a problem with mine ive had the battery on the car replaced and starter and alternator checked and all passed and now the car wont start when i put the key in the screen wont say key in ignition i have to keep cycling it until it will finally start and allso replaced the battery on the key fob and same result

Well what i did was buy the part because we fixed everything else also and then i just plugged it in and tried it and it worked. If it didn't work i would have returned it

I replaced a push start button for a 2017 Jeep Cherokee, and it was working fine. However, in the morning, it wouldn't start. I tried disconnecting the battery, but it didn't help. Also, the push start button remains in the "run" position and won't go back to "off."

Wow that is quite weird! So it was all good after you fixed and now that.. Have you checked the plug on the ignition to makes sure it didnt come undone? Also check the key in your fob? Let me know how it goes!

I turn my key and it will start in the morning but when it doesn't start i get all power and my battery is at 12 volts. Later in the day it won't start. I get go click but i hear the fuel pump and all electronics work. No turning no clicking. Than it randomly will start i replaced the starter two years ago and got a brand new jeep brand name one. I'm lost. Does it sound like the switch you think?

To be honest it doesn't sound like the switch, symptoms of the switch would be no radio, no cluster lights, it basically won't do anything but show the mileage and the car will light up inside. But you say you can hear fuel pump and electronics working so that means your ignition is working because it's powering everything on. I would look into that starter again, even though it's new, it can still have issues. Good Luck man And P.S if u think it's the ignition you can always buy one and plug it in and see if it makes a difference, if not just return it👍

What prompted you to change it out? Dash lights or some other issue?

When we would put the key into the Ignition it wouldn't do anything, it wouldn't turn the car on or the accessory or anything.

@@paulnapora4701 I found my problem it was the main ground from the negative on the battery going to the frame. It was frayed real bad It cought on fire when I got it running.

What was it doing prior to the repairs my 2016 jeep Cherokee latitude appears to have functioning battery and power but I can’t get the accessory screen on to get the battery on so I can stick a code reader in it the head lights come on the key in ignition sensor works nothing happens when I turn the key

So for this car it was having power. But when you put the key in the ignition it wouldn't do anything. The lights on the dashboard come on but not fully like in the accessory mode.

No check engine lights or anything One thing I would suggest first is to double check the Battery in your key fob. Maybe even replace it just to be sure If it's still doesn't work after that, then I would get a ignition switch and see if that works.

Yes I believe so, it was a while back when I did the job. It may have even been a size smaller than 7. I'll double check It is pretty hard to get but if you get your whole hand in there it's easier

Gracias por ver. Mi primera sugerencia para usted sería comprobar el mando. Desmóntelo, limpie el tablero y revise las baterías. Asegúrese de que el tablero no esté corroído y, si tiene una llave de repuesto, le sugiero que la pruebe. Si sigue haciendo lo mismo después, sugeriría hacer el interruptor de encendido.
