Love the vids on your Cadenza. Honestly surprised for the need for a capacitor. I run 2 12s pushing well over 800 watts in my car and haven’t had a single issue with dimming lights. My previous car ( an optima ) did have slight issues periodically with them dimming, but was honestly surprised with this car. But hey, everyone’s car is different.

I got a pair of Kicker CompC tens with a Kicker CXA300.1 amp for my '15 Cadenza. Don't ask me to breakdown the installation because I had it done at Pro Audio here in Richland Mississippi. They even installed a bass controller knob on the left side of the center console which I thought was pretty cool. Beautiful sound while listening to Smooth Jazz or Neo Soul.

That’s awesome! The bass knob is going to come in handy for sure!

@@KleliousDavis They've got the subs hook into my factory system so I keep my midrange around +3, +5 on the bass, and treble/bass knob all the way up.

I did mine on my own. The converter that is mounted on the right of your trunk probably aren’t ran all the way to your stereo. I thought doing the same thing but didn’t want to handle the headache so did some research and the factory infinity amplifier is mounted behind that trunk panel. Just a little FYI, love your vids btw!

Thanks! Gonna look at your parts list and price it out here in Dallas. Good to know about the capacitor...can get them to do that, too.

2 separate questions... 1. would it be easier to just replace the factory sub with something better? 2. Regarding your comment on another comment about the carbon buildup with this GDI engine, besides taking the manifold off and walnut blasting it, is there something that can be done to prevent the buildup? Toyota solves this with port injection to clean the backside of the valves. In any gdi engine a fuel additive won’t work since the injectors won’t touch the backside of the valve. Maybe a spray cleaner at 40k miles (but having to take the manifold off)? Or could a fuel additive work that would withstand the combustion and allow a cleaner to come back to the backside of the valve through the pcv valve? Just trying to figure out a solution to carbon buildup on DI engines as it seems to be more of an ongoing issue as these newer DI engines get older.

You could replace the factory sub but you have to remember what makes a Subwoofer is not just a speaker but also the enclosure that it's in. The factory enclosure is pretty much garbage. As far as the carbon build-up goes fuel additives won't work for carbon buildup but it would benefit the fuel injectors.

To prevent carbon buildup installing an oil catch can on these vehicles would benefit a lot for the gdi engine. If you have carbon buildup the best thing to do is to walnut blast the back of the valves in my opinion.

@@KleliousDavis I'm days new to the car. If it's in the rear deck lid, I wonder if a custom enclosure could be made to hand from the rear deck lid? Possibly port it as well. Using the trunk as part of the enclosure? Might be an interesting project. Also wouldn't have to run additional wires or add hardware maybe.

@@KleliousDavis I almost feel like the walnut blasting is worth it every 40k miles to ensure the longevity of the engines (not just kia's) for a few hundred bucks. Also need to remember to clean out the pcv valves since they get gunked up also and reduce recirculated air flow. Good conversation to have though to make people aware. I had a 2010 Buick Enclave. Engine had a ton of issues past 100k miles because of the carbon buildup on the intake valves didn't allow the valves to completely close. Crazy stuff.

How many miles on your car? I'm test driving this tomorrow. Dealer is selling it for $17k. It has 26k on it. Is the car expensive to maintain? I'm a sonata v6 owner. Do you think it's going to be considerably more expensive to service? Sorry for asking too much lol

If you are mechanically inclined it's not that bad to work on.
@KleliousDavis

My main gripe is the fact that the valves get clogged up with carbon. But other than that it's not that bad.

@@KleliousDavis Thanks! I've never worked on my car unfortunately which means I've to depend on my local mechanic shops. The funny thing is that in my Milwaukee area, all of these mechanics think that Hyundai/Kia are too complicated like Germans which makes no sense to me. BTW one more question, what brand of tires you recommend for the Cadenza? Did you have to pay over $1k?
@KleliousDavis
@KleliousDavis 5 жыл бұрын
Well definitely do some research 1st to make sure that they're not over charging you. For all four tires and labor will set you back about 800 to 1k! Hankook tires are the tires the come with the vehicle.
