Hope it was good to you! The GF just picked one up at an auction for $1,700 (mileage was a bit high - 160k). Drives great and in my opinion for a commuter car if she gets 6 months to a year out of it she definitely got her moneys worth out of it! But I’m sure it will last even longer!

I've had my 2014 Nissan Sentra SV for a few months now, and I have to say it is pretty good. The styling leaves a little something to be desired and on long car rides the seats can be a bit uncomfortable. That being said, the fuel economy is spectacular and the rear legroom can't be beat. Maybe not the best small car, but it's still pretty good. Here's hoping it lasts a good, long while.

Ive been driving rust buckets since ive had my permit (25yrs old now) and just bought the basic 2015 sentra model. Its a fantastic car for my standards (however i cannot benchmark it with anything as the "nicest" car i ever drove was a friends 94 camry) Backseat passengers have 0 complaints about the ride, and say its a very smooth ride. The acceleration is a little weak but cant beat the MPG. Im also a larger guy and was initially worried about buying a "compact" vehicle. Dont worry, the interior is plenty big enough as with the seat as well. I would highly recommend this car if your purchasing your first new vehicle. This is a car you can hop in and go without learning complex button configurations. Hopefully this car can hold up in the long run because I got a sweet deal on it! Anyways hope this helps in making your next car buying decision.

I just purchased a 2015 Sentra SR fully loaded with optional White Pearl paint for my wife. This car is outstanding in it's class for fuel economy and a quiet large interior for this sized car. I get over 40 MPG on the Highway in ECO mode at 65 MPH. This car is among the quietest and smooth ride in the compact class & the rear seat & trunk are very large also. I test drove the Toyota and the Civic and their acceleration is equivalent to the sentra, so I am glad that I picked the Sentra because it is to me a all around better buy.

***** then buy a Mazda 6 Turing limited in red for 32 grand, that will fit the bill for you, or buy the Sentara fully loaded version for 20,000 grand that has just as much room and is quieter on the inside.. it is your money.

+The Flash....You might want to look into leasing they really have some great leases available now and you would have a new car every 3 years. Just don't let the dealer sell you any other plans when or if you lease because they really screw you whith these. You can also upgrade to a much better car of any make with cheaper monthly payments and you only pay sales tax on the amount paid on the lease not on the final sales price if you would buy it outright. Best Wishes at the Academy.... J

+John L Definitely have to agree with everything you said. I recently purchased a 2015 Sentra SR and I'm impressed with how big the interior is. The handling, ride and fuel economy are outstanding and just feels like a more expensive car than it is. The heated seats are really nice on cold mornings keeping my buns nice and toasty on the ride to work and have great lumbar (lower back) support which was the icing on the cake and sold me on this car. Most cars don't have good lumbar support. Overall It's better in my opinion than my wife's 2013 Corolla LE. The only other compact I would have considered is the totally new 2016 Honda Civic which is also quite impressive.

I like how people blame the manufacturer for what the dealers do. People should know at this point that the dealers are not owned by the manufacturer, nor do the dealers answer to them. They can't cancel a distributorship because of he said she said garbage. Both parties will exagerrate the story in their own favor...so who's telling the truth? Every manufacturer has dealers that behave poorly...guaranteed. Just like every manufacturer has faulty cars that slip through. Just because yours had an issue doesn't mean all of that brand's vehicles are bad. I work in the automotive industry and can attest to the fact that no manufacturer is immune to these situations.

Anytime sir! To be honest, I can't decide which of your reviews I found funnier (they're all entertaining), the 2014 Toyota Corolla Prototype review or the one in which you let your mom take the wheel of a ZR1. :D Speaking of the Corolla, do you plan to do another review now that the car has been released to the Public? I realize no one makes an excuse to go to the grocery store to drive their Corolla, but I was actually pleasantly surprised by just how much it had improved since the prior gen.

I have a 2014 Sentra and I really enjoy it. Im 21 years old and this was my first new car purchase. I was absolutely in love for the first month after driving an old honda around, but after a couple months I immediately wanted to upgrade some bits. There are only 3 things I will ever consider doing to my car and that includes: wheels, exhaust, and window tint. I got the SV model and it came with those standard steel wheels with the hubs. I wasn't being too picky when I got the car, but now I can't stand them. Adding some new wheels(or even the upgraded alloy wheels nissan offers) adds so much more value. Same exact thing goes with the exhaust. I know everything im mentioning can be fixed with getting the high packages, but to me it's totally worth it. I went out and got the base SV with nothing added, and im kinda of regretting it because It looks like Im gonna get these upgrades sooner or later. hey, at least I can pick out my own wheels and exhaust though. Otherwise... i love the car.

I've had this car for almost a year now, and I love it. The only minor shortcoming that I wish they would improve is bumping the 1.8 power to 2.0 or maybe more. I say that because I'm a lover of speed, haha. This car is truly amazing for it's price, compared to the features it has to offer. I love it!

I’ve always said the same thing. It should have a 2.0 like the 2010 SR I had and what great pull it had. This engine 1.8 is too small . New cars now have 1.5 turbos. I don’t don’t trust it will have longevity.

I just bought my 2015 Sentra SR black/black several weeks ago. Used USAA's car buying service through Truecar and got the car for $17k (which is about $5k under MSRP). After taxes it was ~$18600. Additional options added were navigation, Sentra floor mats (of course...), and trunk net. Mine also came with turning signals on the side mirrors. The one in the video doesn't have any. I test drove the Carolla S and Civic. They were exactly the same as far as 'feel' but the prices were def not the same lol. If you're going to pay $2-3k more just to drive a Toyota or Honda be my guest. Nissans are great cars. In Japan there's a saying:「エンジンは日産」(Engine is Nissan). I was going to buy an Altima, but I just couldn't walk away from the deal on the Sentra. It's nice to know I'm one of the very very few people at the very left of the graph on Truecar. And yes I'm bragging.

@NoJokes11B
@NoJokes11B 8 жыл бұрын
Darling Nelcy Well I've done a lot of research into the Sentra before buying it. The only negative reviews I've read is about the CVT transmission. Apparently some Sentra owners have had to get new transmissions just after a few years. It looks like it used to be so bad that Nissan extended the warranty to like 10 years but that only applies up to 2012(?) models. So it looks like the problem was fixed. Btw, the Altima/Pathfinder had THE most transmission problems which resulted in the warranty extension on all models. Other than that I think people are complaining about the interior layout. I'll admit it is pretty basic. It's not as fancy looking as the Carolla or Civic. It doesn't even have paddle shifters but it's a CVT so it doesn't make sense to have one. The Corolla and Civic(?) has paddle shifters and it's only for show. I kinda like the simplicity. I prefer dials over buttons.

Driving a 2014 with 20000 miles on it. The CVT is slipping from a stop, wines like a cat at low speed and acts erratically when depressing the pedal. The steering wheel seems connected to the wheels with a long rubber tube. The front seats are uncomfortable in the lumbar region - no support. It gets very good mpg in busy city driving.

Just be kind to her and love her and treat her nice, and she'll reward you by lasting a long ass time.

Don't get this car! Nissan Sentras are known to have bad transmissions. They consistently brake down before reaching 100,000 miles.

If the cabin space has more room than bigger vehicles, what really is the point of buying a bigger car? More trunk space? More powerful engine? Big deal. Seems to me that bigger sedans like altimas, maximas, taurus etc are nothing but big overpriced boats.

If you've the money you can, they're big differences between this and the altima.

I doesn't matter how good a new Nissan is. I'll never patronize a company that condones its' dealers to steal personal property; vandalism personal property; and actively break written contracts. But what really clinched my boycott of NISSAN, USA, was when they turned a blind eye to one of their used care managers actually THREATENING a my fiance' (a woman!) with physical violence, when his dealership was caught committing the above crimes against me. Nissan, USA said, "Had you bought a NEW Nissan, we would be happy to help. But since you bought a used Nissan, we can't control what our dealers do." BOYCOTT NISSAN, USA.

I hate this car with passion. Miserable acceleration, mpg and breaks. The freaking camaro has a better mpg than this car. Nissan lies blatantly on the mpg, mine never went above 25mpg in spite of only driving on the freeway with no traffic. The computer completely lies don't trust the mpg it's giving you. Even flooring the damn car in "sport" mode everyone would pass me. Most humiliating driving experience of my life. I had more fun driving the Toyota Yaris which is cheaper, has less hp, but manages better mpg, acceleration and breaking. The Sentra suck in a way I couldn't believe was even possible. Lost $3000 selling this car less than a year after buying it but I don't regret losing money to get rid of this piece of junk

That’s weird, I get up 47 mpg when keeping speeds between 55 and 60. On city driving I get 31mpg.

130 hp is woefully inadequate for a car that size. Plus the transmissions in them are horrible. I had one and got rid of it because the trans went out twice.

I agree with you, I've had 3 Nissan Sentras. One I traded in, the second one blew up on the side of the highway at 56k carried over 6k to another Sentra because they said they couldn't fix the old one. Now to the 3rd Nissan which is the basic model that I'm paying 28k due to the 6k added on and with 48k on it my engine light is now on. Going to have it checked out next week and I'm sure they will try to sell me another one because these people are crooks. Oh and the 09 Nissan with 56k miles that they said couldn't be fixed turned around and sold it for 10k. I should own half the company at this rate.
