And I always thought those Smart cars had one giant key that sticks in the back to wind them up!👍😎
@rhkips4 жыл бұрын
Haha, oh man I was hollering when you didn't read out "next key." Easy to miss, but boy could that send you in a loop if you didn't catch it! It would probably be beneficial to use the instructions "1st key," "2nd key," and so fourth. Ordinals are a much clearer way of describing sequences than "next," especially when creating an interface that may be used by folks whose first language isn't English. Judging by the spelling of "Initialising," this is a proper world-market tool. :)

Key Programmer tool reviews are awesome! Keep'em coming !!!!

Good vid Keith. I am an automotive locksmith. Just like scan tools, there isn’t one that does them all well. Without the original key also it’s a much more involved process. Not familiar with that programmer so not sure if it will work when you don’t have a working key. Those are the jobs we mainly do. The more expensive programmers charge a token (fee) every time you use it despite paying $5000 for the programmer. There are Chinese knockoffs that don’t require tokens but they have also failed to program non complicated cars but did work on more complicated ones. Keep up the good work.

Neat toy! I want to see a Cliff's notes video version of programming ecus, keys, PATS, etc. That and the electric cars diagnosis...but maybe they self diagnose and self heal which is why we don't see too many of those lol

Hey, Keith. I just talked to you in Mikes VVT class. Just wondering how I would go about getting a ride along with you. I have family in Staten Island and plan to visit them next year and would kick myself if I didn't try to get a ride along with you whilst there. Thanks man!
Can/have you do(ne) a video on Hyundai key programming?

Can you do the programming without any keys ?
@boomer20953 жыл бұрын
Same thing happened when I tried to get a second key made. I am not sure why everyone who you buy used car from has lost the owners manual and the 2nd key. But a local locksmith had the machine and charged me $185. After programming the new key the old one didn’t work and he had to program it also. At least the lost key no longer worked. Also, my check engine light stayed on until I drove the car a,couple miles to reset it.

Works with that weird contraption of a car, I'd say it's a pretty good tool! (It better not fail on a Ford Taurus or Honda civic now....)
@frugalprepper4 жыл бұрын
I want to see it on one of the older Hondas like 02-04ish. Even the local locksmiths can't program them for me, and dealer here refuses to program any aftermarket keys.

I got a question for you... If you have 1 key and you want to make a second key, isn't called cloning, not programming ? Anyway, my question is, if you have no key at all, that machine, can really program a key to the vehicle ?
@JaysonElliot2 жыл бұрын
Other locksmiths have told me they're unable to program a Smart key, and it has to go to a Mercede$$$ dealer. I wish I could find one that knew how to do this!

Am I watching Dr. Who? For you to fit in that tiny car it would have to be larger on the inside than the outside. Years back I rode around Orlando with 6'6" >300# co-worker in his volkswagon bug...which was only possible since the seats were removed and we both sat on milk crates.

You're very smart and have top 0.01% diagnostic abilities and there's tons to learn from you. What I want to know is how do you manage the stress? You seem inhumanly busy and your job is literally harder than 95% of jobs in North America. You just go about it literally carefree and kill it. I want to know how you do that part.
