@@oco2149 got into a fender bender 2 years ago that ended up totalling it because it ended up bending the frame. I miss it still. Just gotta remember to turn of your headlight because on mine it wasnt automatic after turning off the vehicle. Easy to tell at night but for early mornings where you need them on until it gets bright and ut nolonger being obvious when they are on once led to me getting a dead battery lol. Thats the only "problem" i had with it and it wasnt anything jumper cables didnt fix either. I learned my lesson and it disnt happen again

I have a 2013 base model 2.0 Jetta. The mpg isn't great, but it is a terrific car for the money. Acceleration from a dead stop is what you'd expect. The acceleration once you're in motion is excellent. I prefer to think in terms of dollar-for-dollar. When I bought a $17,000 car I knew I wasn't getting a Ghibli. For the money it can't be beat.

how's the maintenance on this thing? is it cheaper than a camry or accord?

I bought a 2014 base with the old-school 2 valve 2.0. Although this engine is certainly not as powerful as the rest of VW's engine lineup, I would not consider this to be a slow car. It's just not as fast as the other turbo 1.8 and 2.0 models. Keep in mind that VW rates their engines conservatively. Their horsepower and torque ratings are "at the wheels"...where the tires meet the pavement, as opposed to a "crankshaft" rating, as most other manufacturers rate their horsepower. The 115 base engine is realistically around 130 horsepower. The 1.8T is actually in the 200 horsepower range and the 2.0T is rumored to be 242 -247 horsepower. VW also underrates the MPG on most of their engines. I have rented Jettas with the 1.8T and have experienced 38 mpg. As for my own 2.0 (2 point-slow) base, I have never had less than 30 mpg combined. I drive a lot of highway miles and have achieved 41 hwy. Pound-for-pound, these are awesome cars with very good reliability and underrated performance.

There's a 2014 jetta for sale at 8900$ Canadian with 79000kms on it. Is that a good deal ?
@maddyj71605 жыл бұрын
I would say so! I just bought mine 27,000 miles for $11,000 and I love it! Considering the miles that’s a good/typical price!

Only is he is short. That stupid center console reduces effective leg space for tall drivers and makes it less than optimal. I wish those cars were tested by tall reviewers, and on longer than 10-minutes drives.
