The last person is the anchor and the anchor is basically holding the full weight of the person in front of them and most of the 6th person's weight. Their job is to stay up so that the 7th person and really lean into the rope.i used to do rug of war and i was usually the 6th or 7th person in the line.The front people are meant to stay low
