lol, hearing a complaint like "I can't adjust the windscreen while driving" seems so silly. I suppose once that's fixed the new thing will be " yeah with the 2020 Tenere my only complaint is you can't change the oil while driving" .

Well it's true she is a "Big Girl" if you are use to riding a big moto such as the Tenere you will enjoy the heck out of this bike, i always refer to the parallel twin as Flat Power, but good overall..i have done a lot of upgrades to my Tenere from suspension to electronic's to make her more like a dirt bike and flow like a sport bike and she does both pretty well. So i do have a question for fellow Tenere riders. How many of you have been having "Cam Chain Tensioner" failure problems with this bike and what are you doing about it? I am on my second in 8k covered under warranty, but i have seen about 6 different bikes with this problem from milage from 2k to 60k and 60k lead to engine failure, chain jumped timing and bent valves. Let's here some feed back! thanks

Looks like that's a no unfortunately. Although apparently you can get the luggage in three different configurations as per: "The optional flexible luggage system design has three possible set-ups: standard with no top case/side bags, top case installed, or side cases installed. Genuine Yamaha top case and side cases designed for adventure touring are available as accessories. These accessories were included during the design of the motorcycle so as to enhance the look of the bike."

When I bought my twelve it came with 1200 dollars in Yami cash so you could use that to purchase luggage if yo uwanted. Otherwise you are getting a bargain regardless, nice bike.

Olá, tenho uma 2012 e fui trocar por uma DX, você que tem ideia de trocar por uma, primeiro veja se tem na loja, pois estou esperando a 2 meses reclamei no SAC da yamaha, foi a mesma coisa que nada, estão se lixando para o cliente. seriously? you compared this multi-terrain tourer to nc750x? why not compare with bajaj pulsar 150 with it's 115mpg, and i like how u overplayed your mpg to 80 when it's well known to average around 70mpg classic case of apple and orange

40mpg is nothing to brag about but 80mpg? LOL where did you learn how to do math? The weight is a non issue unless pushing it around, with the dry sump it handles very well on dirt and is mind blowingly easy to pick up.

I would love to get an adventure bike, but the mpg makes me cringe. I want something that gets more like 65+ mpg, I dont care how slow it is. Considering the BMW 310r

You would think that something so simple as a shut off switch for ABS could be done from the factory as it does limit your off road ability. Kind of ruins the whole purpose of the bike.

There is a way to disengage the ABS albeit rather awkward to do but it can be done by sticking the bike on its centre stand (its an option in UK on the standard model) start the engine and put it in 2nd gear. The ABS is now disabled as the ABS light stays on until you turn the key off.

I find it funny he mentions how comfortable the seat is. Uncomfortable forward sloping seat and the feeling of sliding up onto the tank is one of the top -if not THE top- Tenere criticisms.
