The horses are spectacular. The handlers are wonderful and I can tell the bond between horse and handler. As a long time horse owner I appreciate the time and training it takes to put on the wonderful shows you do. Thank you for the respectful tribute to America and the freedom we enjoy.

The Clydesdales are amazingly beautiful horses. They are so gentle and intelligent. It is amazing how they stand there calmly waiting to be hitched to the wagon. Each one knows their roll to play.

I was there, meeting the Clydesdales again after 40 years. I also meet my favorite Dalmatian Clyde!🐶🐴Man the driver of the hitch is so effortless in driving these huge 2,000 lb. horses. What a driver. Kudos to you Mr.!!

My Grandfather worked for Budwiser as a route driver. My late sister got to see them when she was small. I'm thinking of a road trip to the farm in MO.

I love everything about them and all that they stand for and do. My only concern is the bearing rein which doesn't allow the horse to stretch its head and neck forward and down. I know it looks very smart with their heads all held high and in the same position but it is neither natural nor comfortable for them over an extended period. One can see this expressed in all the head shaking going on while they are waiting to be unhitched. It wouldn't hurt to loosen them..

Com certeza que toda essa beleza existe algo encomodando o animal , então o belo não é tão belo assim

Bearing reins ate supposed to be the last thing hooked up just before they get going and unhooked from the saddle hooks immediately upon stopping. These lazy çlowns hook them up as they go along. How long does the first horse have his head held up like that. Bearing reins are why there were so many old sway back horses

10:23 approx ....who/why the unrestrained toddler ... one wrong moment and he is killed .... but that's modern "parenting "
@Undomaranel2 жыл бұрын
Do you mean the one in purple, standing well behaved with her family, older sister, mom and dad right behind her? I seriously doubt those parents would be letting her stand like that if she was ill mannered at all. And ribbing on modern "parenting"... I'd agree with you if they were running amok or screaming or trying to touch the horses after being told no. But a child standing with her family, guarded by an older sibling with parents right there... that's a family that has had talks on how to behave in public. That was common practice in the 90s, and I have little doubt it's been so forever. It's hardly "modern" to let a behaving child practice responsibility. If you're talking about the 8ish year old boy in the background being led by the elbow, that's a different story... but he's not a toddler.

WOW, THESE HORSES HAVE A BIG TRAVEL SCHEDULE.THEY ARE EVERYWHERE.
@julieenslow59156 жыл бұрын
Doreen benson they have four hitches - four complete teams that do that travel. each team has a permanent home base for R&R. They usually carry two extra horses with the team so that any member of the hitch can be traded off whenever needed or wanted.

Why are those beautiful horses always shaking their heads more than usual ?
@julieenslow59156 жыл бұрын
august I believe it is impatience. They do love their work - but when its done, they know they get a lot of TLC. They have come to expect it - and they know they earned it. So they are a little impatience. You will see the same thing at the beginning if they get hitched and then delays make them wait. They are ready for show time then, and get excited for it. Head bobs, looking around, and the occasional foot raised and put down. When such a large horse does that - it does sound like a stomp! They are so patient during the hitching up and even once the unhitching starts. They stand and wait their turn as the order of hitching and unhitching is always the same. But once its time to go on parade - or to return to their stalls - yeah. I think they get a little impatient then.
@julieenslow59156 жыл бұрын
I just watched it again, and I notice that they almost all started shaking their heads as the teamsters mount the wagon. A greeting? Or just because they know they must stand until they get them on board? 12:35

how do you know what is USUAL
@brookchilvers41777 жыл бұрын
Shame about the docked tail so they are unable to flick away biting insects. And also the check rein which forces them to keep their heads up in an unnatural position for all the hours they are hitched and never allowed to stretch down. A horse pulls a carriage much easier if they are allowed to put their heads forward and pull through the collar. This all look an awesome site to the uneducated, but to me, my heart is crying out to these magnificent animals who are suffering for the enjoyment of the audience. 😢
