My 2010 STR now has more mods than I can count including a full Arrow exhaust system and Ohlin's shock with KyleUsa linear linkage. Now barely weighs 400 lbs gassed up. So much fun on a twisty back-road; handling is effortless. Also has a SuperSprox 520 conversion with 2T larger rear sprocket; pulls so hard in top gear I rarely need to downshift.

I just came off a CB650F to Striple R. What a difference.

I came to watch this again as I've decided to part ways with my 2012 ST3R. I was hit several times with the Triumph known Stator/Regulator/Rectifier failure. What I wanted was the best daily commuter around, but Triumph couldn't deliver. Trying not to be bitter, but reliability seems to be a thing the Japanese and Germans do better. Fuck it, I'm bitter :) Anyway, it's time to find my next ride. I'm hoping your videos provide me with some inspiration. Keep doing what you do buddy.

Hope this helps. I had a 2007 Daytona 675 from new. I owned it for four year and managed to tack on over 74,000 miles on it before I sold it. I had the same stator failure you had with your bike. I now own a 2015 Street Triple R and it's a much better build. It's much more refined and I would recommend the second generation Striple. Peace.

"What are we making a fucking movie here"? Hahaha I was thinking that right before you said it. It looked like the old CHiPs episodes where they were going down the freeway and the cars are all staggered perfectly and doing 20 mph.

it's crazy how much more conforable a bike like this is compared to a Daytona (which is the best looking bike on the road).

Hey Cal, how about a review of the new ST 765R? Your fans miss seeing your very entertaining videos on a regular basis although I imagine it's a PITA to edit.

+Roland Gott The Sprint GT has been unavailable in the States for a for years; that said, I've always thought it was an underrated bike.

Subscriber from İstanbul and a FZ 07 rider, this is probably my next bike.. Will there be a global price hike as speculated when the next gen comes out? I'm torn between getting a good deal for the current one or waiting for the 800 or seven hundred what ever it will be called 😄
@calmoto90738 жыл бұрын
Problem solved; buy the new Speed Triple!

Cal Moto I've just bought a 2016 675 with 4500 miles on the odometer. Upgrade from an FZ-07; the triple sound is addictive 👍

Whats the difference between the regular Street triple and the R version?
@calmoto90739 жыл бұрын
+Anthony Annweiler (LazyKrogan) adjustable suspension and a $600.00 price bump on the "R" model. It's well worth it.
@smackgod189 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the info, this may be a dumb question, even though the street triple abs is expensive, could a new rider learn on it or is it too powerful for a new rider to handle?
@calmoto90739 жыл бұрын
+Anthony Annweiler (LazyKrogan) I don't have a big problem with that. However, it is not an entry level bike and I hope you can regulate yourself. Also, there are rights of passage that be upsetting to you with a new bike....you'll drop it. That said, you should buy what makes you happy.

As a bike for occasional commutes and fun ride outs would you suggest the Street Triple or Street Twin?
@calmoto90736 жыл бұрын
The Street Triple: every day, and twice on Sunday. There is no comparison.

Just today I rode STR and noticed very snatchy thottle response at slow speed. It was almost impossible to hold speed steady at 30mph. Also if I completely closed or opened throttle at low speed bike "jumped". Is this common? Otherwise bike is very good.
@calmoto90739 жыл бұрын
John2710 I never notice that; I always smooth everything out with the clutch. Are you more accustomed to using a dry clutch?
@John27109 жыл бұрын
Not really. This week I rode CB1000R, S1000r and r1200r. Al these bikes were so smooth on off/on throttle. I was so in to buy STR but this is very annoying. I asked other guy who also tested the bike and he noticed same thing and said that this is second bike he tested with same issue.
@calmoto90739 жыл бұрын
John2710 I would recommend riding it again to see if you can adjust to it. If not, buy one of the others and enjoy:)
@John27109 жыл бұрын
Cal Moto I am also considering buying s1000r or even r1200r but STR is wallet friendly and has personality. Thx for opinion.
@roberts16779 жыл бұрын
John2710 The chain might be loose. I've experienced the same issue on my Kawasaki when the chain wore loose out of spec. Tightening it back to spec fixed it.

MUCH PREFER THE 2010/2012 MODELS WITH TWIN UNDER SEAT ARROW CANS.
@rteel39 жыл бұрын
+david waddington Why do you prefer the 2010/12 model?
@davidwaddington94149 жыл бұрын
+rteel3 it's an iconic bike and the underseat twin cans help to make it so, also the black with gold wheels is the best colour scheme available, the new models without the underseat cans look like many of the japanese bikes.
@williamdeimos23549 жыл бұрын
+david waddington Agreed, the round headlights and under tail exhaust belong on this bike. i feel the same way about the new daytona, it looks to much like a Japanese bike. the street and daytona lost a little of there soul in 2013. as soon as my fz07 is payed off im going to be looking for a 2009-2011 street triple r.
@davidwaddington94149 жыл бұрын
+Outlaw Rides just bought a 2012 model, black with gold wheels with just 4500 miles on the clock, some bargains on used bike internet pages.
