Head unit. Reminds me of the 1990’s with people talking about Denon, Alpine car stereos. Also makes me want a Whipple, or Roush blower...

HI American Muscle I was looking to purchase this kit but on your website it says that 91 fuel is required but where i live we only have 89 and 93. Will 93 octane work for this kit?

Why would users of this system require a different tune if they use E85 fuel. This system requires a minimum of 91 octane. Doesn’t E85 fuel have 107 octane?

Because E85 taxes the fuel system. Takes considerably more fuel to use E85 but the power gains are easily worth it if it’s there to be had in your area. There’s enough injector here for E85 at low Boost settings but even with the BAP it may not flow enough. More than sufficient for pump gas setups though. Safer bet (albeit more expensive) is to go with a dual pump setup from Sai Li or Fore Innovations.

It would probably burn lean at that much boost. The Coyote truck engines monitor the wide band O2 sensor, sees it burning lean and starts adding fuel...but they are flex fuel engines. I don’t think the Mustang engines have flex fuel capability. When burning E85 in a flex fuel engine you get more power, but a lot less miles per gallon, because it takes more fuel to get the same power as gas...but the high octane let’s you advance the timing, and get more power even though you run more fuel. I suspect they have to run lower boost, and run more fuel with E85 without further upgrades to fuel pump, line, and/0r injectors to run even more fuel for the same boost levels with 91/93 octane. My truck goes from 18-19 mpg to 12/13 mpg on E85...normal daily commute.

Thanks for response. That gives me some info to investigate. The presenter only mentioned octane so it sounded like that was the only factor to be considered.

Darin Pearson if you’re getting your ducks in a row regarding boost be sure to have a talk with whoever is going to be tuning it so they can point you in the right direction. as mentioned above you make big power on e85 even on lower boost so you may not need to throw the kitchen sink at it to attain your goals. that said, x amount of power gets boring after a while and you’ll inevitably want to pulley down 😂
