Definitely an awesome upgrade, but swapping the light bulb for the map light was a pain in the ass. I recommend removing the map light lens and replace it through that method. I used two box cutters to remove lens and a plier to remove the bulb and also use it as leverage when inserting the new replacement by gripping the edges. Hope this helps!

This is a great upgrade but the 2018-2019 version has an LED trunk already. Also the map light housing is different on an 18-19. Do not pull down on it like this. You will break the double sided tabs. Also you can do the glove box without having to remove that entire assembly. A pry tool behind the bulb will bring it out and then you just replace.

I concur with every single point here. I experienced all of this on my 2018 GT. For the map housing, pressing the side clips in with a small flat head screwdriver helped a lot. I pulled it down just enough to be able to see those clips. Also had to stretch them back out before putting the housing back to make it fit tight again. I did use Bill's method for the vanity lights though.

Yeah just did my map, vanity and glove box lights. If I didn’t see those tabs I probably would’ve messed up the map lights and for the trunk light I watched three different videos because I didn’t see a bulb in there to remove, just the led board. If I didn’t see these comments, my trunk would’ve been lightless

Prying the housing out for the glove box light in the 2016 the plunger assembly doesn’t come out as a separate piece as he shows in 3:00 it comes out in PIECES that don’t easily go back. Recommend trying to remove bulb without removing housing.

The plastic covers on the lights are very hard to get off without scratching or denting the plastic around it.

The installation of the dome/map lights is incorrect here. It's much easier to just remove the lens rather than the entire part. It's been proven that once the entire part is reinstalled it won't fit snug as it did before

I tried this and being very careful, the socket ended up pushing through. I ended up having to remove the housing anyway. The socket didn't seem like it was very secure.

@@transparent1608 I used a very small and thin fingernail file. Just used the tip and pulled down and the lens came down and off

Thanks! The bulb wouldn’t fit in the socket when I removed the housing. Removing the dome housing was a big pain! Removing the lens is way easier ! A small pick is a must

Take the bulbs out, and turn them 180 degrees, and reinstall.

If you got a 2018 + mustang don’t use this method to remove your map housing, the clips have to be pressed by a screw driver and you’ll be able to release both sides and the trunk has LED’s already so don’t worry messing with the trunk light

little tip cause you got super lucky its hard to to get that off so I'd suggest prying down the housing a little and look inside and push the clips in to release the clasp that's the only way to get the housing off without damaging it if it doesn't come off right away.

The light in the glove compartment is not as easy as you make it seem. I was able to remove the hosing and replace the light but it is a b!tch to try and align back up. There are slots inside the housing that need to line up. I left it hanging until I try it again. Thanks anyways.

@@Letuscheese im heading to autoparts and buying a 10a blade fuse. I think ours blew and its why we aint getting light. This is located in the passenger fuse box (located at the bottom right corner of passenger side, fuse#1).

The video shows him using a small bladed screwdriver. Do yourself a favor and go get some chopsticks from a Chinese buffet and shape the end to match your screwdriver. They're made of wood or bamboo, so you won't accidentally blow the fuse.
