2015 - 2018 Audi A3/S3 8V rear passenger door regulator replacement (DIY)

I made this video to help others with the replacement of a window regulator on an 8V (2015 to 2018) Audi A3/S3.
The video only shows the installation of the new regulator, but if you do all steps in reverse, you can follow along to take your door apart and access the faulty regulator.
It's a choppy, hacked together video, but I hope it helps someone out there who was having issues like I was trying to find a good DIY video to follow.

Got one question, how did you unclip the window from the regulator? Special tool? Slide a thin piece of plastic to undo the clip?

@nlz242 Good question as the video doesn't explain that. I do mention that it is tempered glass, and that stuff can take a beating before it breaks. That said, at your own risk, of course, you can use a flat head screwdriver with some duct tape over the head so as not to scratch the window and cause potential cracks. You really just need to pry under the glass to relieve at least the side of the clip facing you, and you can do one at a time. Sounds risky, but it worked. Another idea is to use a hacksaw blade (or a dremel if you can reach it) and just cut the tabs below the window. You can retrieve the cut pieces later, and it's all being replaced anyway... Maybe you can comment on what you used when you give it a go to help others. It was pretty easy. Just be patient. Good luck!

@@EhnPeeDee Alright. Will report back. I ordered a repair kit from "Bross", they sell the plastic pulleys + the cable, which from what i can gather are the parts that are failing most of the time. I'll post here with my experience, once I receive them. Local Audi dealers wants $400 (canadian) for the whole assembly and the repair kit is $10. Worth a try, if it's bad i'll find a used regulator online... $400 for that part is outrageous.

@nlz242 I wonder if US companies ship? I paid $190 USD after taxes and shipping. But yeah, I'd go the route you're taking to see if you can do it for much less. Again, good luck and keep us posted.
