I want to thank you for the information you gave on changing out the shifter cable and parts I had a 2018 Jeep Cherokee your instructions made it so easy that it only took me less than 30 minutes to replace the parts and they work just like they should be on a brand-new😀😀 car thank you very much Godspeed.

I recommend that instead of paying that amount of money, you just remove the electronic module from the base (it's super easy) and look at it against the light since the pins where you assemble the harness go down to the green plate and are only soldered on. individual tracks, it is advisable to release them completely, clean the solder plate (tin) and re-solder that will prevent you from making a greater expense and it will be like new. The cost of the materials is 10 dollars. Do it yourself and it will be like new again. .I did it in my 2018 latitude jeep

Yea, opened up the bezel, jiggle the hardness wire a bit, and that also fixed it - so maybe sometimes the problem is the contact.

I swapped mine out but I didnt replace the wiring harness, I just plugged the old connector to the new bezel and I haven't had the service shifter light come on for months now. I'll keep it on hand in case it comes back but it might save folks an extra step.

Question, I have a 2015 that still looks new but the PRNDL bezel looks worn and I really want to replace it. I assume I follow the same steps but I won’t have to remove as much since I’m not digging for the bottom wire connector but just replacing the top? Thank you! Sometimes you can disconnect the battery and reconnect. Typically if the issue is fixed the light will eventually go off and after awhile the code will disappear. Otherwise might be able to get the local parts store to clear it….unless it’s against their policy

What if you have a 2014 2wd doing the same thing. Haven’t put it on a code reader yet. But I would think it’s the same thing unless Jeep changed something after 2014

Hi and thanks for this info-was there a recall for this? This happened to me just the other day and all the lights lit up on the gear shift panel and I did get the Service Shifter alert on the dashboard. I thought this might have been a transmission problem or something to do with changing the differential fluid.

Hi Tim, could you tell me what the symptoms were on your Jeep? I have a 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk 3.2 and can't get it into four wheel drive anymore. I am getting the U1465 code. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Joe

Hi Joe, I was not receiving a code on my scanner. The display read service shifter continuously. My Jeep ran perfectly fine, no issues with four wheel drive. I've had issues with my four wheel drive but it was an issue with the Power Transfer Unit (PTU). It might be a faulty signal with your PRND bezel? It's a relatively cheap fix to start with? @@JosephIrizarry-er1uf

Yes it will. I just did it myself in 20min and the issue was fixed and I have a 2014 jeep Cherokee

Hello David, any chance on doing a video for replacing the eight speed rotary switch for dodge ram pick up truck? Numerous times I've gone out to start the truck up put my foot on the brake and the selector switch is stuck in park will not turn. After numerous attempts, it finally going to drive.

Why remove so much? All u need to do is pop offprdl bezel, Pull up slightly on back of black bezel and reach down and unplug. You're creating too much bs to deal with. There's also numerous videos that will show you a better efficient way than this video
