You can also use Sylvania 3457 which are a brighter bulb.

First of all, I’ve been told you should never put your fingers on the bulb. Next thing dielectric grease on the connection where the bulb plugs in and finally why not replace both bulbs? You’ve already got it out and the back up lightbulb too that way, you won’t have to be getting back in there for a while just my suggestion.

Mayb not both on the same taillight but on each side so the brightness is the same

I would have replaced both as well. I was thinking the same. However. The only time you need gloves is if you’re using halogen bulbs. The oil from our skin causes them to burn out immediately. But with these bulbs. Not the case.

New side mirrors are just about as easy. Think that was just 2 bolts also.

Do you have the part number on the tail light? I think BLID LED were 16 pin, BLIS non-LED were 6 pin, and then non-led / non-blis had two connectors. One for tail stop blinker and one for reverse.
