FYI - for anyone looking into doing this, the SK-3354 are Non-Magneride. They are a direct fit replacement but they do not have Magneride capabilities. If you want an Arnott version of Magneride, purchase MR-3840, not available on rock auto. Same with the rears, there are both Magneride and Non-Magneride versions of replacement shocks. Magneride versions start with MR, Non-Magneride start with SK and AR. The Non-Magneride versions only plug into the truck so codes aren't thrown.

I appreciate you putting this video together. I don't think I would have attempted to do this myself, as I have the same SUV, '18 Denali and I was told that my front drivers shock was leaking, just like yours, but the dealership wanted like nearly $1500 for a new one and I'm now confident that I could do this myself and you made it look really easy and even went the extra mile telling us about the socket sizes you'll need which is great so you can make sure you have those or purchase those before getting started. Have a great day and again, i appreciate you, happy motoring!

Replacing a loaded strut assembly is easy, probably a thirty minute job after jacked up and secured for both sides. You do not need to mess with the sway bar. It's three nuts and two bolts per side. Use a long pry bar on the lower control arm to seat the bottom of the strut on its mount. However, these aftermarket loaded assemblies are not the same as the OE ride. Check my other comment for more detail.

@Trouble2Times

I’m not totally sure.. but I would say that it probably has something to do with the weight difference in the trucks. & since one truck is longer than the other.. it may require more stiffness in the suspension. Just me guessing tho🤷🏽‍♂️

I highly suggest anyone replacing their magneride struts to go with these non magneride struts because they will last way longer than the magneride oem types, magneride was a cool idea but they will fail every time. I’ve heard of a guy who installed brand new magneride struts and they failed a couple months later.

@Trouble2Times

I like it man, nice & comfortable. Rides like a dream & the sound system is amazing! Only problem I have is there’s not much room in the back. The third row is unusable.. so if u need 3 rows, get the long version. The Denali is in a league of its own in terms of appearance & the 6.2 is top dawg! I installed an AFM disabler & I still get 21+ mpg! I was getting 23.7 before that tho…

@Trouble2Times
@Trouble2Times Жыл бұрын
Now I’m no mechanic by any stretch of the imagination.. but the two front ones are MagneRide & the rears are air shocks. They are both electronically controlled by a system within the truck’s computer. The front shocks(Arnott SK-3354) used in this video are just basic replacements, THEY ARE NOT MAGNERIDE.. & I paid about $900 for the set. I’d imagine the MagneRide replacements would be much more expensive, plus I’m sure labor was added within that quote the mechanic gave u. Hope this helped!!
