Why don't you ever show the adjustment??? Show the top of the strut tower and how to adjust caster and camber!

It’s not hard to loosen 4 nuts and slide the coil

This video helped a lot, but for someone who has never worked a serious project before, there was a lot left out. My friends and I spent 6 1/2 hours on a Saturday doing this project, which is about how long I expected with the three of us. We ran into a few hiccups. Getting the spline bolts off was MUCH harder than shown in the video. While you are wacking away at those bolts, it is a good idea NOT to set the clipper on the frame. Those kept sliding off the frame. It is better to get something to set under these while working on those spline bolts. Getting the factory springs out was a challenge as well, a bit of maneuvering to get them out. I don't know how anyone could install the back assemblies without lifting the car all the way up and using a pole jack. We needed to raise and lower the pole jack several times to get the lower shock bolts lined up and tightened. Having a flexible socket extension to hold the new supplied nuts is would have been very helpful during this part too. Overall, if there was no video for this project, I would have never attempted it Thanks Bob and CJ Pony Parts!

Unfortunately I have to agree. Me and a friend spent 5 hours just on the front. We switched the front coil overs because there was no instructions from the manufacturer or in this video on how to orient them. This is honestly not an easy install unless you have a lift. The spline bolts are very very difficult to get off and on. Theres alot of finesse needed on alot of components. This video was done by someone who’s probably done this dozens of times. If its your first time and your just a dude in your driveway allocate a whole day you’re gonna need it

Agreed, and same here. These are good basic concepts that can be applied to most cars. The procedures for doing these types of things aren't going to vary that wildly manufacturer to manufacturer.

I just installed this setup on my 2017 GT and I do love the adjustability that they have but the problem that I’m having is at slower speeds when I turn there is a lot of noise coming from the front. I had my daughter turn the steering wheel left and right and noticed that the spring was having a hard time I guess moving? What could be causing this and how can I get a better ride then factor? Thanks for the help.

Why didn't they mention anything about the preload on the back. I hate when these so-called experts start make a video telling you how to do stuff but they leave out important information. I mean just because they know how to do it it doesn't mean the next person do so take your time and explain the steps when I say steps I mean the important information like the preload for the back

Just installed these rides extremely bouncy in the back, trying to find the solution. I think because we adjusted the shock height to line up with the 18 mil bolt holes might be the problem.

My right rear strut shock is an extra inch thread than my left rear strut shock. The collar rests with 5 inches of thread above but the right has extra 1inch of thread below while the left rear is snug.. what do u suggest? Should I remove the strut shock and rotate the bottom upto the collar?

Just a quick question!! Can I use the front strut mount upgrade on to these as I have the pedders coilovers installed on my mustang and the drive isn’t smooth!
@nigelsmustangchannel45634 жыл бұрын
I just cut my turrets so I can adjust the top mounts without removing the strut. I wonder why they call the adjustable top mounts Castor/camber plates?? unless you swap them right/left they dont adjust Castor??
@cjponyparts4 жыл бұрын
They basically are just camber plates, the name castor/camber places is typical but these do not allow any easy castor adjustment.

@tjwreds16 жыл бұрын
In order to get to the installed Pedders camber plates, you're going to have to cut the mounting location. Can you guys show this? How is it done best? To me, it looks like that entire bubble section needs to go.
@cjponyparts6 жыл бұрын
Several kits are the same way. The owner of this car did not want it cut but you would need to remove enough to get an allen key or socket in there.

I'm about to install this setup next weekend, is there any sort of install guide for cutting? What actually needs to be cut and why?
@tjwreds16 жыл бұрын
you won't be able to get to the bolts on top without cutting that bulbous part of the strut tower off. see this www.camaro5.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=456769&stc=1&d=1356851200

There’s another video where they recommend just moving the screws from the outer holes to the inner ones on the camber plate before install. Supposed to make it easy to get to so you won’t have to cut.

do the holes in the top of the strut mounts leave enough room to make camber adjustments, or do those holes need to be enlarged to have access to the full range of camber adjustment on the plates?

@BorisZech Жыл бұрын
Can you elaborate on how the shock height is adjusted depending on the spring height?
@NigelsModellingBench Жыл бұрын
@@BorisZech OK, so, if your shock is set at max length and your car is lowered by its spring setting two things will happen. The shock will bottom out at full bump and the spring could dislocate at full droop. like wise, if the shock is set at its shortest length, it will not allow the suspension to fully droop. I guess the best thing to do is measure the shock at full and short length and set it half way when the car is at ride height. Coil overs would be much simpler but I wouldn't want to run coil overs on stock lower arms.
@BorisZech Жыл бұрын
@@NigelsModellingBench Thanks. I'm not excatly sure if I understand your last sentence, because I see no way to set the shock at half length when the distance between the shock's mounts is given by the ride height. My install is some time ago but I think we did it this way: install the spring (of course without the wheel and on the lift) with the desired height setting, then compress the spring a little bit by lifting the lower arm with a jack, adjust the shock according to the distance between its mounts and install it. What do you think?
