Very good video Dmitry. clear close up camera footage and nice and slow detailed explanation of every step. Great job.Now if I only had the courage to do it.

Just a word of advice press those studs out and in, when you hammer against bearings like that even laterally you will score the face of the bearings and it lead to premature wear.

Nice job like how you cut out the upper shock housing, so yoy could utilized the caster plate screw settings. I will get mu auto body shop to do that before my mechanice installs the Pedders Xtreme with remote canisters. Why didnit you replace the rear upper mount OEM with BMR or steeda billet mount. Sompe post claim the OEM malfunctions with the stiffer coil overs. Keep up the videos and TY

Richard, glad you liked the video :). As far as the upper rear mounts, I think it wasn't a known issue maybe at the time or was still a developing issue. It's been a few years. I haven't personally had any issues with mine yet, but an upgrade may be a nice idea!

Are you getting any noise from the rear with your setup? I had the same setup installed and I’m getting noise in the rear. Do you recall using a rubber pad where the spring sits in the cutout? There is rubber at in my cutout. I think I’m getting the noise because the spring is not seated correctly in the cutout. What day you?
@DmitrysGarage4 жыл бұрын
Hey, I'd check that everything is still snug. For instance mine made a little noise after a few dozen miles because a jam ring around the coil body came loose. With this kind of setup you gotta check it right after the install (~20-50 miles) and then a time or two a year depending on how many miles u put on. Custom suspension generally needs a bolt check. The other part is that the rear spring needs to be rotated correctly to sit in the bucket at the bottom with the end of the spring at a stop. The top part i think has some kind of rubber material that is aftermarket, but I don't remember having to assemble it.
@p51_red_tail4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for responding! For sure, I took it back twice and they checked for tightness all around. Still getting the noise. I watched the CJ Pony Parts Video and the Pedders guy said the placement of the spring is critical. If not placed correctly it will cause noise. I didn’t see rubber in the cutout in your video or CJ’s, but my spring is sitting on rubber in the cutout. Maybe the rubber is not allowing it to sit in the cutout properly. Do you recall if you have rubber in your cutout?
@DmitrysGarage4 жыл бұрын
Are you talking about the bottom or the top of the spring? The spring has to be spun around until it comes to a dead end in the bottom, it goes into a moulding.
@p51_red_tail4 жыл бұрын
I’m talking about the bottom of the spring. In your video you call it the bucket. Does the spring sit directly on the bucket or is there something between the bucket and the spring as you spin the spring into place?
@DmitrysGarage4 жыл бұрын
@@p51_red_tail The rear suspension arm has that bucket shaped spring perch in it that I was referring to as the bucket. The cutout you mentioned is the shape made into it for the spring to match up. There is indeed a rubber insulator which is itself shaped like the cutout and it sits inside the cutout shape in the spring perch. It's similar to the top rubber insulator that you saw me remove in the video that sits inside the top of the factory spring. The pedders kit comes with its own insulator for the top of the spring, but you do indeed reuse the bottom insulator and this is where rotating the spring around to match matters. The insulator itself also need to be rotated to match the cutout. Your ride height would be off if one side was missing the insulator or if the insulator or spring was not rotated properly into the cutout shape. Of course in theory both could be missing or messed up the same way, but unlikely. I would measure both ride height at each rear wheel, and how much the aftermarket top spring perch has been adjusted on each side. For example they may have messed up one side and just adjusted that side to match ride height. If both sides are the same and if you can see/feel the rubber insulators, it's probably not related to the noise. Any chance you have aftermarket swaybars that need to be lubed up around the hard rubber/delrin bushes where they meet the chassis? Sometimes these go in dry or squeeze all the lube out and make creaking noises. What sort of noise you getting?

How’s the pedders two years after installation?
@DmitrysGarage3 жыл бұрын
So far so good Ben, BC makes the actual dampers and Pedders does the rest of the kit. It's not high end, but it's great for the price point. Granted keep in mind I don't daily drive the car and daily driven coilover setups depending on aggression may not last as long as factory struts.

How are the pedders coilovers on regular street driving? Are they really stiff where u feel every bump?
@lobehold22633 жыл бұрын
These are adjustable so that would depend on how you load the springs and set the shocks. It ranges from a hair stiffer than stock to really stiff if you like. From my experience with these anyways.
@DaveSchnare2 жыл бұрын
@@lobehold2263 too bad you didn't explain how to set the rear shocks and how to set preload on the rear springs. It would be nice to have in the video because that is one of the biggest issues with a divorced rear suspension.

Can anyone tell me why I should spend 1800 bucks more for the Roush 3way adjustable suspension one the Pedders?! Is there a measurable quality difference is it just the name?
@DmitrysGarage3 жыл бұрын
The 3 way adjustability gives you more adjustment than one way. If you need certain ride characteristics it may be the only way to achieve them. Definitely a premium but is used on real racing builds. Cant speak for the roush brand specifically but 3 way always cost more especially for good quality.
