Appreciate this comment. I planned to do more reviews like this of the cars I rented while in the rental programs of the rideshare companies but never did now it’s too late because I have forgotten everything that I was thinking of talking about.

I own a 2015 Malibu LTZ with the 2.5L engine. I bought it May 2016with 18,000 miles on it. Its now September 2023 and it now has 162,000 miles. The engine still runs like new BECAUSE i changed the oil full synthetic every 3500 miles. The transmission fluid drained and filled every 25,000 miles. Never Ever skip an oil change or transmission drain and fill and this car will be super reliable. Replaced catalytic converter at 149,000. New AGM battery at 150,000. All fuel and air sensors are original still working great. Unplug and clean with CRC electronic spray every 15,000 and replace air filter. Retape any electrical wires you see where the electrical tape is drying out and unraveling. Wanting to hit 200k and even more. Only time will tell

Lol as a cab driver I just picked up one of these as my personal car. I pretty much agree with your driver review however the back seat isn't roomy if the front seats are back all the way (newer Mals are finally bigger but have less power as well.) I'm like 6' 2" and I find it's hard to get into the car. I have to bend my head big time just to get in however it's fine once you're inside. Mechanically they have an abs sensor problem as well so far. I worry about other problems as it ages. Your review is two years old and you probably leased rented the car from GM for a few years? Anyhow thanks for the review and I hope they last with few problems. It's a very competitive car segment. And driving as a cab lyft is very demanding.

My 15 2lt with 70,000 klm. 190 hp 2.5 Ecoteck Only issue has been Rubber boots on the drive shaft were cracked. Replacement under warranty, was told it would have been a $1000 Cdn bill. I looked under car to see if I can inspect and apply rubber rejuvenate so they won't crack again. Look like a lot of stuff to remove to get at drive shafts. Here's a hack. Press and hold the traction control button, youll see the the anti skid button will come on, so turn that off also. Now drive, you'll find car has a more aggressive throttle response. Once you turn car off and back on, car has returned back to normal. You can open trunk also with the key fob also. 2015 is last model year, 2016 is a totally new car.

I had a 2013 (same body style) with the 2.0 turbo engine... it was an LTZ with ALL the options... I agree it was roomy and comfortable and got around great... mine in particular had 50,000 miles when I bought it and it needed a major engine part... at that miles... I traded it in ASAP however I loved it (and hated it)

@@richardcole6690 Ouch. Thanks. I have an LT so no turbo. I just got rid of a 2002 cav which was like 20 years old and it had a lot of problems towards the end so I wait with baited breath. Love hate is a good analogy when you're paying a lot for car repairs that handles and drives good still and don't want to or can afford to part with it for financing again etc...

I have a 2014 chevy cruze and I like it but it likes taking my money in repairs 😆. I have been looking at getting a malibu and i have been watching reviews about it to see if the engine and other things are better in the malibu. The chevy cruze 1.4L has a lot of engine problems and I can't keep throwing money at my current car lol.

This review as well as others I been looking into upgrading from my chevy hhr 2008 base model to a 2008 or 09 hhr ss but those are rare and scattered around the America and there 2 trim levels a 4 speed automatic turbo or 5 speed manual turbo part of me prefers a turbo automatic car because that's what I'm used to driving but I don't know about the turbos engines anymore cuz I'm hearing about certain issues and you got a really maintenance them well as too all so this is kinda long but I've been checking out between this 2015 and 16 years cars a dodge charger sxt awd, or ford taurus sho, 2013 chevy impala LTZ chevy cruze I recently looked into and now a Chevy Malibu 2015 but these are options in the next year or 2 but I been kinda wanting to stick with chevy for now now I just recently started to learn about trim levels and engine liters I know the Chevy Cruze has 1.42 2.0 I believe or 1.8 and the Malibu has like the old ones have V6 is I think 3.5 and the newer ones have light 2.5 4 cylinders and 2.0 turbo charged ones and I think of 1.5 but I'm not too sure about the turbos cuz like I said there are a lot of Maintenance with at least they can be and most people said like they don't really boost while they're automatic only manual I'm guessing but I'm not sure how that really works because I known video game lore a turbo can work automatic or manual so I don't know how they haven't figured out how to get them to work like that and be just fine
