2015 Chevy Spark Transmission Removal. Full Process.

Customer came in with a 2015 Chevy Spark and the transmission needed replaced. A the shop I work at I am normally the C.V.T. guy so I am the one that got to do the job. I did not see a video out so I documented the process. I hope this video is helpful and I hope you enjoy! Thanks for watching.

Weres the transmission pressure sensor located on a 2017 chevy spark ,I would greatly appreciate it , an mechanics like you are a certain breed ,great job.

How long would it take you to do that swap if you weren't videoing and you were in your groove?

my transmission went out on my 2015 spark, how long does it take to get the cvt transmission? Im taking It to the dealership because it is still under warranty and im trying to see how long it should typically take.

I’m guessing probably a two week turnaround time but it could be a little bit less just ask for dealer they should give you an idea

Looks like the job with the cost of the trans is two times what the whole car is worth.

Locally, Central Southwest Virginia, the job was priced at $6K. The value of it is $3,350. I have a very expensive, very ugly lawn ornament now.

About to post the world record video where I pulled the Chevy spark out in 55 minutes back in an hour and a half or 2 hours. Plus whatever the rebuild takes.

I’m guessing that’s internal probably be there behind the valve body.

@@edwinromero8157 I was just guessing it’s probably behind the front pan but you may have to pull the unit to get to the pressure sensor I’m not positive

Can you pull the engine and transmission from the top and replace the transmission out of the car?

Yes ..I pull both engine and transmission out from up top ...it's way easier ...then I put em back together and slide em back in ...but I take the front pumper out and the radiator..etc

I believe these cars are the very definition of "a lemon" and was destined to fail shortly after the mileage warranty expires. If Chevrolet had any integrity, they would scrap the Spark model... at least the automatic transmission version. My big German heritage hands would never fit in that tiny engine so I either have to pay a mechanic with small hands or use skinny tools coupled with mechanic language (aka cussing).
