love the way your stalls with the runs are set up. very nice, but doesn't look expensive to build or keep up. I'll be watching your series. thanks for sharing with us out here.

+Melanie Willard Not too expensive...the nice thing is if the horses kick at each other they don't break legs as the fence gives. If it gets too beat up you can change wire every few years

+coloradoreinsman Do you adopt them out??
@coloradoreinsman8 жыл бұрын
Susan Smith I typically try to match up a mustang with a client through the BLM adoption process that way I don't have to find someone that fits a horse I have. I can help a person with a desire to adopt find one that is suitable and fits them. I have never had one returned to the BLM that way. Too many horses get picked because they are pretty or some other fantasy and then when they get them home with no experience they find they have a wild horse and no idea what to do with it.
@susansmith50448 жыл бұрын
BLM is a very bad corporation.. I was looking around. I guess if my desire is so bad I will go to SPCA before I find the one for me.. Thank You !! I do love how you speak to your horses. But there was a Video you did and all the planes and helli's and sirens going of you had a horse out there I thought you would have trouble with them, you had just got back from picking them up from BLM and I was sitting in my chair thought you would have problems. You were so calm. I live in the country so no noise. When I am in town the bells and whistles go off and I ask what is that. Thank You for answering some strange questions. I always ask if I am in question about some thing..

Thanks for sharing it with me...I only just discovered your videos and have watched so many of them now...I want to meet you and watch you work...I'll be in Durango in Oct...are you doing anything in that area? I get the impression you are farther north, but, worth a note just in case...I looked at your website, but, you don't have any current listings for workshops or demos there...perhaps because you are not doing them, ha, ha! Anyway, love what you're doing thanks so much for sharing here on youtube with us all!

Such a nice, honest mare, well balanced and athletic looking. Reactive, true, but in an honest way -- she does make her intentions clear, n'est-ce pas? I'm looking forward to seeing what this sturdy little beast does as she learns to see her new world without fear. Sean Davies, it interests me that the philosophy and methodology of your gentling and training (not gonna use the word "program" because to me that implies a one-size-fits-all attitude which you definitely -- thank God -- do not have) -- whatever we call it, the way you do things with these mustangs could pass easily back and forth with the things I've always done after bringing other people's mentally-damaged, difficult racehorses (deranged TBs being my favorite kind because when they learn to relax and trust, they will give you the moon) off the track. As I'm sure you've done or would do, when a horse off the track comes to me FUBAR, I re-start them as if they'd never been handled by a human, then let them choose the pace at which we proceed within the bounds of gentle discipline. The guy in my profile photo? He was so hideous that I paid a whopping $250 for him, and the trainer thought he was ripping me off... Also, what struck me from the get-go watching your videos (and many others) was the lack of ear-shyness in these mustangs once their natural resistance to being touched on the head is overcome. It's set me to thinking in a big way of how we humans create so many frightened and traumatized "broke" horses.

what are the rules of owning a mustang? Like number of acreage and fencing etc. She is gonna be a sweet girl....I've been around horses all my life and trained lots of them...had my Morgan 23 years and he was a rescue, wish I could put that man in a closet with no food or water for a month. Trace weighed 650 and should of weighed 1000-1200 lbs. Karma will get him.
@mustangryder629 жыл бұрын
Hi Debbie....if you go to the Blm website they can give you all the info.... if you're getting a completely unhandled one you have to have sturdy 6 foot high fences among other things. Mustangs are very different from domestic horses at first so I do suggest working with an experienced Mustang trainer the first time. The taming process is the most important thing. Phoenix is not typical....trying to climb over the walls often is.
