I have a 2016 f150 and my truck seems to have the exact issues in all your videos. Glad to be able to fix em all

Good info. Having the same issue with my 2020. Did the pipe coming out have a few notches where the metal grommet held on? Wondering if I need to cut those off or if the elbow would fit tight enough? Any issues since your fix?

You should definitely trim the tube unless you use a lot of sealant otherwise you’ll just get leaks

Do you attach the long end or short end of elbow?
@_willalexander.8815 күн бұрын
@DannyDixon-n2r doesn't matter. Just prevents water from running back into cab.

Thanks for the info. My 2015 sat for almost a month during repeated heavy rains. One day I noticed water had collected (condensed) on the inside of the windshield. I dried it off and did a quick check for leaks. After a few more weeks I started to notice the mildew smell from inside and outside the truck. I have tried several products designed to rid the odor including a deodorizing bomb. The smell persists. I am going to try your elbow fix and I´m going to replace the cabin filter.

Update: it turned out to be the cabin air filter.

Do you have the part # for the elbow? Strangely my '04 F150, also a first year truck, had this exact same issue. I'm going to put this elbow on my '15 just in case.

Please fill me in on the headlights you have... are those OEM with paint matched inserts? Or did you buy those? Thats the exact look I have been trying to accomplish!

Do you think the heat from turbo/exhaust will melt the elbow?
@_willalexander.882 жыл бұрын
No way. It would need to be less then an inch away.

Other video shows using aluminum duct tape to cover the elbow and reflect the heat away from the firewall penetration.

@@_willalexander.88 I don't disagree, but I'd rather divert underhood heat away from the cabin. And seeing how insignificant that firewall seal is, I'm plastering foil tape over the penetration.
