I think mine is going out. Yesterday it seemed nothing was making it out the vents, unless its my blower. Today.working fine but for how long
@TheLinkminer2 ай бұрын
Hopefully just a glitch. If you heard the blower running and there was no air moving out of any vents, then I would say it’s the blend actuator. You won’t really know until it finally quits. Let’s just hope it’s a glitch. They do happen. 😊

A good idea to try before taking everything apart is to take a long screwdriver or pick and tap on the actuator. That is what I did and it worked (for now). You will hear the actuator engage.

Thank you so much for this video. Literally the exact problem I had, and this is the only source I could find through all my research that helped me fix the issue. Just spent all day working on it and its finally WORKING!!! You're a life saver!

On my 2015 Ford Taurus HVAC Mode Door Actuator the 3 screws are 8mm and might I suggest using a Endoscope, comes in handy for that second top screw near the firewall that you can’t see also used Rigor Universal Joint Swivel Socket Adapter and Neiko Flexible Extension Bar and thanks for the help

I was able to remove what you refer to as the difficult screw. It seems impossible to me to reach the other two screws. Any tips? Do I need to remove the radio or something?
@TheLinkminer3 жыл бұрын
Hey Rich, sorry for the late reply. I’m sure you fixed it by now. The only way to get at the other two screws is to lay on your back and reach up under the dash. The screws are barely visible but they are there. You’ll need a 1/4” drive and extensions as well as a swivel joint. If I can offer a suggestion to your comfort, use a bench by the door to rest your legs on while under the dash. Put some foam or a heavy jacket on the floor rocker to protect your back. All this makes it much more comfortable trying to get at those two darn screws. Let me know how it goes bud.

Looks hellish! But it has to be done and Ford wants $2850 to replace a part that lists on Rock Auto for $15-20.... NFW THAT'S HAPPENIN!! 😂

I replaced the bottom actuator three times before I realized I was changing the wrong one. I was blaming crappy aftermarket parts and finally bought the OEM. When I left the old bottom actuator out and the system only blew hot air, it occurred to me that I had been changing the temperature blend actuator. Sometimes my stupidity amazes me.

Your much to hard on yourself. Don’t feel bad. I went through every actuator before I got to the last one that was the problem. You can feel good now that you are an expert in Ford actuator replacement. Now go treat yourself to a wonderful delicious barbecue. I wish I was there to have some with you. Heck! I would of did the job for you for a plate of ribs. Yum!

About to be summer? You must live close to me. I’ve been waiting myself. Anyhow, I uploaded a vid on how to align the spline and socket. Hope it’s helpful. Let me know if I can help in anyway. Thanks

It’s about to be winter here and it’s blowing out the face. When the windshield is all fogged up during winter it could cause poor visibility. What calibration were you talking about in the vid?

God this looks like a pain. I've already replaced the other two actuators and now this one is failing. Thanks for the video! I wondered if it was accessible behind the cluster but of course they had to have that big steel structure in the way.

I would like to edit this post just a little bit Due to some of the questions I saw if you would just pull the steering column out as well it literally takes 3 minutes it's a whole lot easier to get to those bottom 2 bolts Now the top bolt yeah that 1 still sucks

@TheLinkminer3 жыл бұрын
You have to remove the panel under the steering wheel. Then you can reach up under the dashboard with a 1/4” drive with a swivel attachment. A trick to stabilize the swivel and socket is to put a little tape around the swivel joint so it’s not flopping around.
