Thanks for posting. I just had this happen this morning. I went through about 45 min of heave rain last night. Here is a post on what some have commented in regards to water getting the fuse box behind the glove box. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZvYlGmkl5mbr9E

Came back to add this in hope it will help otheres. Also located in the same area is the air cabin filter. Mine was very dirty. In a high humidity situation, this could cause condensation in which that moisture can be blown into the fuse box getting it wet. I also changed the air cabin filter and have not had the same issue since.

What was ur fix to not shutting off
@diannalee9222 Жыл бұрын
My 2015 terrain recently started doing this problem, when you turn the key off the engine chuckles and turns off with a slight shaking within a couple of seconds. Taking it to a shop is expensive so I'm doing my own diagnostic, engine light is on too.

It could be the battery or alternator? I guess the computer on these while running can detect low voltage from battery system? If it does? It trips a code for such and it prevents the vehicle from shutting off because it believes it will not have sufficient voltage to restart? Not 100% on it? Because I never followed up on this issue because they claimed a new battery solved it all

And I really miss the days of getting a solid used battery for 20 bucks or a new one at 60 bucks, dang near 120 too 200 plus now for darn automotive battery! Same with alternators on GM vehicle! They was always fair priced till recent models

I have 2008 Buick Enclave and it started doing the sams thing. We replaced fuse box under glove box, still did it . Replaced ignition switch, did it once but came out with code P1682. Going to electrical mechanic again to see what is going on.
@RANS87IROCZ5 жыл бұрын
@@ramonsanchezjr.3904 Yep the same code this one had and only way to shut it off was pulling the relay out, which set it into limp mode next time it was started unless code was cleared. Was so odd to me and I just don't trust the dealership them telling them they installed new battery was the issue I just don't believe

Did you ever find out what the problem was?
@RANS87IROCZ3 жыл бұрын
Well the dealership said it was bad battery believe it or not and reason it don't shut off is to prevent you from getting stuck from shutting it off

Their reason so not 100 on that but what they told my friend

My 2013 Buick enclave have same problem p1682 in 100000 mile. Wonder why there is no recalls. My car shuts off at the highway. Someone will die soon than they will realize

Me too it happened after changing the battery
@RANS87IROCZ5 жыл бұрын
You sure it's not fuel pump? This here the issues was it wouldn't shut off until a relay was removed, if yours is stalling during driving and no check engine lights I suspect fuel pump going bad, but still a chance it could be ignition related, did this stall start to happen immediately after new battery install?

Have you figured it you yet, my buddy has same issue trying to figure it out, gonna try cam shaft sensor.

I have a 2017 GMC Acadia that is doing the same thing. I’m hoping mine would only be a battery problem also.

@@michealreed9792 Did it stay gone? 2018 Acadia doing the same thing
@michealreed97925 жыл бұрын
Red Reef Media no the problem did not go away I ended up pulling the fuse box that’s located just above the glove compartment. Acadias Traverse and Enclaves have issues with water leaks under the dash. The leak is coming from a place on the firewall in my case. My fuse box had a lot of corrosion inside from the leak dripping onto the fuse box. After taking the fuse box out and apart I cleaned it very well and dried it out since then it’s been working fine but you have to fix the leak also or the problem will eventually comeback.

Micheal Reed Is it still working well? Just had the same issue with my 2012 Traverse. We did just drive through some rain. I took it to the shop and they said it was the ignition switch, but I’m convinced. I didn’t get a chance to check the fuse box before my wife took it to the shop. I’ve also been having something weird where my radio doesn’t change lighting when it is bright/dark. Like when I pull into the garage and the headlights and the dash lights auto adjust. I’m wondering if that is because of the same fuse box issue.
