Thanks for this! My friends and I, we had trouble removing that 8mm receded bolt, had to get a deep socket for that. Also the big long bolt on the top of the alternator, we had a lot of trouble getting that in. What we ended up doing was screwing in the bottom 14mm bolt first and then the top one finally threaded in after that. Took hours, we almost angle grinded the new alternator to make it work. But again, couldn't have done it without this. So thank you!

FYI you can take the alternator out without removing the heat shield and then take that off afterward if you have difficulty reaching the bottom bolt.

Pin this! Definitely easier to leave the heat shield on during removal.

Question may I ask why you had to change the alternator cuz my daughter car is doing something funny it showed that it's charging got a new battery in that when I turn on the lights it showed that it's charging 14 and when I turn off everything is charging at 12 in the alternator shows good did it fix your problem when you change the alternator
