Took me forever to get the bolts through when I reinstalled the new one on my 2015, but this video was awesome. Thanks! And as a tip to future generations, make sure you move over the wiring brackets/heat shield to the new alternator before installation. Getting all that stuff moved over afterwards added an hour to my adventure... Wouldn't take 2 mins on the bench. D'oh!

I’m glad I could help. It was my first time filming a KZbin video so I’m sorry it was not the best filming, but wanted to help others. Sorry I didn’t think about putting that section in about moving the wiring brackets/heat shield. Thx for your review!

I’m at about an hour of literally just trying to get the top bolt back through for the reinstallation of the alternator… how
@benmurdock45982 жыл бұрын
@@RussianSOG I drilled out the through hole on the alternator to make it bigger and add clearance.

I fingered the alternator for 15 minutes, trying to find that bottom bolt. Then, I found your video. Thanks for the help.

Battery was dead yesterday after vehicle sat for 3 days. Same at Thanksgiving weekend. Never got a bad charge light and assumed it was dead or dying battery. $200 at AutoZ. Put multimeter on new battery while running and am getting 12.4v or so. Now looking at alternator. Thanks for the video. I was sizing it up looking for that bottom bolt.

Hello, thank you for the video! Unfortunately the 8 mm bolt is stripped inside on my car. Do you have any idea how to remove the tensioner like that? Thank you!
@CathLabtech3 жыл бұрын
My apologies that happened to you! Unfortunately, I no longer have this vehicle. You may need to ask Honda directly or another mechanic. I shared this video to try and help others understand a little bit of the complexity of taking it apart, etc. I hope you find the answer you need soon. Good luck!

Does the new alternator not already have the heat shield etc when you buy a new one? Or do i need to take it off the old one once i get it out?
@CathLabtech Жыл бұрын
I don’t have this vehicle any longer but from what I recall you save the heat shield from the old one and put it on the new one. Hope this helps. 😊

Is there a trick getting the bottom bolt for the belt tensioner back on? Do I need to pull back the cable tensioner to get the bolt to fit back through? Or do I need to take the top off and try to put the bottom on first
@CathLabtech2 жыл бұрын
I apologize that I no longer own that vehicle any longer. I don’t recall the exact order, but I tried my best in the video to describe it. I probably would suggest that you leave most bolts threaded but loose to make sure they go in before tightening anything down. I’m sorry I can’t be of more help

Had a similar issue. I was able to rotate the alternator downwards and was able to see the bolt but confirmed the tensioner needed to be removed.
