which firewall did you pass through for the foglights wiring?

You mean the DRL lights? None. It operates on a voltage sensor

Nice video, couple of questions, the led fog light bulbs you use, what is the wattage? Trying to find a good low beam/fog setup that matches, heard about bad luck with hid kits and stalling of the engine so I won't try that. Also, what is the kelvin rating of both the fog and the drl? Do they seem like a match from 20 ft out?
@Bassguitarist19859 жыл бұрын
fogs are 35 watt led h8 style from Sirius LED, fourth gen. about 6k kelvin color temp. the drls are china sourced, 4 led array for both amber and the white. the drl white is 5 watts each about 90 lumens and about 6700k kelvin. the drls are a bit more blueish but they do not overpower the fogs. i like them more for the switch back and the look. they do have more powerful arrays out there im sure.

Good video, this was posted on fit freaks. A lot more fit 3rd gen fit owner would be happy if you could do a video on how to remove the bumper.
@Bassguitarist19858 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for watching! i think someone else did a step by step on the front bumper removal already. its a bunch of push pin clips on the top center and bottom, two screws on each front wheel well, and the clips on the body fender need to be released before the bumper slides off.
@jan30196 жыл бұрын
I wanted to do this too and now i just realized i have to remove the entire front bumper to install this. i wish they made the design same as the Jazz, jazz fog lights have a single screw and you can just pry the clip and it's out. :/

jan3019 that would have been really nice and easy!

Why you didn't show us the cable assembly? What cable goes where?
@Bassguitarist19859 жыл бұрын
not much to show. two battery wires, and each light has a 2 pole connector for the white LED, and one yellow wire for the amber LED.

where to tap the signal lights wire? the video will be great if you explain where to tap the wires because that is exactly the core of this diy.
@Bassguitarist19858 жыл бұрын
I tapped the signal wires right at the light socket. Since my setup has LED switchbacks, i tapped at the load resistor to make it easier for me.
@janorvillesolis69258 жыл бұрын
and where is that?lol. there are no diy video in the net that is detailed. honestly this is the only one i can find and sadly its not a diy vid. i'm sorrt but it's like you're just showing us that you have a drl on your fogs and explaining your problems encountered not the diy step by step.
@Bassguitarist19858 жыл бұрын
Okay. Ill make a follow up video addendum showing exactly where i tapped the wire. I now have a 2017 Fit, and dont have these drls installed yet.

I bought mine from ebay and it comes with a on and off button switch. I want to know how to set up the switch
@Bassguitarist19858 жыл бұрын
So many different kits, you can put a switch for fogs on the blinker staulk, left side of drivers seat, center console or always on with ignition

Thanks for your video, but technically you did not show us how to do the installation at all which is very disappointing. This video is almost click bait.

WizFix Auto Maintenance in all honesty I didn't think I needed to show the whole disassembly of the front bumper. Anyone who is familiar with taking car parts on and off of vehicle should know how to do this pretty easily. I'm always trying to shorten my videos as they get too lengthy and too technical which is never good for a DIY person
@zadeanrobinson16087 жыл бұрын
xboxer1985 A DIY person appreciate even a little explanation because most of us are not tech savvy like others. most DIY dont have the technical know how but still want to do the job themselves. You have to take that into consideration. You could include way more details and still keep your video short with editing. I appreciate your effort nontheless.

I think I am pretty adept at disassembling and reassembling all kinds of electromechanical devices. I never would have attempted to remove the front bumper cover without having lenghly detailed instructions first. That was the key to my success. Where are the push-in plastic fasteners, where are the screws, have I found them all? You think so? So let's start pulling things apart now where the molded-in clips must probably be, that you can't see - it is too easy to break the clips off. A broken clip in the cover may mean you have to buy an entirely new bumper cover. The part shown, replacing the garnish with the new garnish containing the lamps - that's the only part I would attempt myself without instructions. All I had to do is read the owners manual and read the specs for the voltage requirements of the LEDs, and I would know that certain circuits have pulse width modulation to lower their voltage, and I would know not to connect these LEDs to those circuits. I would avoid finding out the hard way, and avoid having to rewire. You didn't wire it properly the first time because you didn't have suffiently technical and sufficiently lengthly instruction regarding how to wire the LEDs.

there are supporting forum threads on fitfreak.net that go into more detail than me for the bumper cover removal.
