That is me getting sprayed in the face at 6:09 - 6:10 of the video. #1716. 105 degrees threw all of my plans out the window except one - Get to the Finish Line! And I did. I am so proud to finally be an Ironman. The city of CDA and all of the volunteers are the best.

Brian McKilligan Seriously, man. Spectators saw people get off the bike without even ATTEMPTING the run (lots of DNFs added to a few hundred DNS). After months of planning for time goals, that heat virtually destroyed any hope for achieving any PRs. But...the fact remains from that absolutely hellish day: YOU ARE AN IRONMAN.

What an amazing day. The heat, the volunteers, the participants, Maj Scotty Smiley #HopeUnseen , all the support from the crowds, my family... I loved every minute of it!!! IMCDA Finisher.

The spectators were literally drenched in sweat just watching, it was so hot. Way to go Ironman finishers! You guys are the elite!

That's me crossing the finish line at 9:50 My first IM on the hottest, toughest IM day EVER!! Impossible to describe what it was like. Couldn't be happier about finishing this thing. 2 hours slower than I planned to be, but who cares? I'm an Ironman!!!
