@spudbencer71793 жыл бұрын
@@harryfluellen No, he wouldn't. A halo breaks like a stick under the weight of the thing he drove into (a fucking crane). The halo wouldve actually made it even worse, probably. Because the halo is not as well formed as a helmet.
@spudbencer71793 жыл бұрын
@@harryfluellen If it can take 12 tonnes, then for short impact, not for any considerable time period. Considering that bianchi drove into the crane with what? 200kph? You can do the math yourself. In a rather optimistic calculation that would make 10 Million kN at impact. That is 80.000 times more than any halo can take. It would have broken and most lilkely penetrated both his helmet and his skull. Due to that last logical assumption, based on the math, the halo would have made sure he doesn't even survive until reaching the hospital. unlike without the halo. Due to the fact that huma body can deform rather well. We are flexible.
@spudbencer71793 жыл бұрын
@@harryfluellen no. Grosjean didn't run into a crane. He ran into a barrier made for impacts like these. Maybe not as fast as his impact was, but generally it was built for impacts. It bends accordingly and the force on the halo was not even close to what bianchis crash produced. Idk bro. I took this www.gigacalculator.com/calculators/impact-force-calculator.php And I took the 1000kg of the car. And assumed the crane moved like 30cm on impact. And duration I forgot what I chose. Nonetheless even if I am completely wrong it is obvious that the halo would have broken like a stick. It would have done nothing but cost space for bianchis body to bend according to impact, or potentially penetrate is helmet and body.

But I do think there is 1 big problem that will CAUSE deaths instead of preventing them. What if the engine explodes en the car goes up in flames? It doesn't look like you can get out of the car very easily. Let's say for example the big crash of Niki Lauda. He couldn't eject het seat belt. After a minute or something he got it off and escaped out of the car with some help. But, if the Halo was on his car he couldn't get help from other people and would not have escaped from the car.
