Great video. Just be careful with the DPF pressure sensor and line. If the line or plastic/seals cracks it will melt the sensor about a week after you put it all back together. Super comma for this to happen after this fix BC it's right in the way of everything. Also I recommend buying the highest quality parts you can get (they are hard to find). Had to do this whole fix twice BC the belt snapped and the DPF sensor melted. Lucky the damn thing didn't catch on fire. Have fun!

There's little prongs on the backside of both the cam and HPFP sprockets, and when you loosen the bolt and nut for each the sprockets can move in order to get the belt on and apply tension, while the actual pump and cam are still locked in place

If i am not wrong there is no point on loosing the high presure pump nut and the camshaft bolt after replacing the belt. I always do it before. You have to have loose both pulleys(including the little bolt on the camshaft) before installing the new belt. I am used to do this job following the vw manual. If it works it works, but from my point of view the process is wrong.

I do not have any of the special tools. I will need the alignment tools. The coolant fill tool what? Pretty interesting don't have will need a work around. At the end the COOLANT FILL with VWx diagnostic software? I have Ross Tech VCDS so not sure what that was. I could just do belt but that I think would be dumb. I will take 2 days and at least 15 hours. This Tech does it in not time. I think the job allows 8 hrs? So I typically take x2 or x3 the time as a DIY. I see how he works.... I now see why.

Line up the the accessory belt crank pulley marking to the mark on the timing cover and use a paint pen to mark the toothed crank and front main seal

@@BigDuttyB process was pretty much the same. I followed this video and one by DIYDALY called "2.0 TDI Timing belt & water pump replacement - MK7 VW Golf CRBC" because I needed some different camera angles. Using both videos combined the install went great. I used these tools off Amazon: "CTA Tools 3830 Timing Belt Tool Kit - Compatible with Volkswagen TDI (EA288)" It's been awhile I don't remember what other specific tools I bought for the job. 10:45 when you put in the new water pump, did you put any additional sealant on the gasket or did you put it on dry? Just curious. Thanks!

Actually, I think it has an o-ring so there wouldn’t be any additional sealant needed.

Was that the original pump the car came with from factory, how many miles and years did it last before it leaked?

Yes Oem pump car had 120k on it

@@GremcoGarage oh do you know how many years it was in the car VAG UK recommend changing belt/pump 5 years or 140k miles whereas VAG GERMANY just say 240k km which is around 150k miles. Wondering if time does have an factor on the pump

good instruction but you lack work hygene. fuel, coolant all dripping down on cambelt area. why bother to clean everything before reinstall. you left it all messy. WP entry must be cleaned and brushed before reinstall.

If we are cleaning anything, it’s brake cleaner. If we are spraying anything on O-rings, it’s silicone spray.
