Owned a 2011 Ninja 1000. First year they came out with it. Torque from 2000rpm and up in any gear. No flat spots, no hiccups, just a bulletproof motor. Suspension was matched well with the bike. Brakes were strong. Really nothing bad you can say about it except that it went up $1000USD since 2011 and now.

You're right about the large dead zone in the throttle. When I bought my 2012 Z1000 it had way too much slop and I adjusted it to zero. The feel and responsiveness was a huge difference. All I can figure is that they put the slop in the throttle for people with less experience maybe? Easy 5 min fix.
@iRevGrip9 жыл бұрын
+Tony Patalano For sure - zero deadzone is a must. Fortunately, the throttle on my s1000RR hade zero deadzone from factory, and is smooth/light as a babys butt! :)

Looking at one at bike shop for 10.800, is it worth it? %0 miles on it. It sets a Little low, Thats good for me sense im short. But im still on my toes. I love the double headlights. The color i found was switched. The green is in the middle, and the black is on the outside. and is a solid black one also. i also sat one a FZ 09. I didnt like the way it feels. Dont like the way the headlight looks ether. oops i was wrong. Its the 2016. Thats why the color is different.

Concentric adjustment for the chain makes it easier to adjust than normal. Just loosen it up and click both sides a couple times and tighten it back up.If I were you I'd get Akropovic exhaust for your bike.

How did you adjust the mirrors? Do your feet fit on the pegs without being pushed up by the lack of clearance by the exhaust?
@iRevGrip9 жыл бұрын
Sean Wallace They have both a swivel in the base and the mirrors themself can be adjusted inside the cover. Didn't have any problems with pegs/exhaust alignment :)

Good vid, how did you find the seat height and weight of the bike in terms of moving it around off the bike? Any heat off it in slow town traffic?
@iRevGrip9 жыл бұрын
The Incredible Sulk I was riding it during a 12-15c day, so I didn't really feel any heat off the engine or frame at all. Seat height is probably an issue for shorter riders, standing at 32,1inch - although it wasn't any problem for me. I could flatfoot it with no issue. With a lowering kit of some sort, it should be manageable for shorter riders as well, considering it is easy to handle weight wise for a 1000cc street bike.

+iRev Grip Hi fellow biker ! Here's the story..... I had a 2014 Z1000 for two days to test it out...., did roughly 500 kilometers but honestly couldn't make up my mind since my heart beats for the Honda cb1000r . Unfortunately here in Costa Rica I could only get on by special order... That for I would really appreciate why you would rather choose the Honda over the Kawa in your opinion? Have you ridden one before ? Cheers

Gear indicator? Hazards? How is the wind on this bike?
@iRevGrip9 жыл бұрын
TheSamuraiRonin No gear indicator in the display as standard, if that's what you ask? Wind was tolerable, didn't ride it that much on the freeway tho - it wasn't windy at all the day I rode it, needs to be said. As with all naked streetbikes, you feel the wind much easier on the chest/helmet - which can strain your neck pretty easy on far distances :)
