You can't match up the two filters. They don't match. One says this side "up" and the other says "air flow" direction. These are direct opposites. One points up & the other points down. If you want to match them, then the time to do that is when you buy the filter. Make sure the new filter says up on it before you buy it. 🤔😁🙄

Why do you want to make note of the position of the old filter? Are you putting the old filter back in? So why did you put the new filter in upside down? The new filter didn't say "UP" next to the arrow. You said to take note of what was on the old filter. Well on the old filter there was an arrow that said "UP" next to it. This was not the case with the new filter of a different brand. It had an arrow that said "air flow" next to it. Two different filters. Two different arrows. An up arrow should point up, duh. An air flow arrow should point down. Air comes in from the top and clean air enters the blower beneath the filter. Otherwise the blower would be full of dirt and debris. It's not rocket science.
