2015 Mazda 3 sedan Reverse camera install only 20$ (all 3rd Gen Mazda 3 sedan 2014-18)

This was done on a 2015 Mazda 3 Sport sedan manufactured in Japan I highly recommend this I’ll make updates on any further issues I have in the comments!

Thanks for the video. I just bought the same camera for your same car and set up was just as you stated. I did have an issue with the camera initially turning on. I unplugged the battery for a few minutes, but the camera still did not show up. I then did a factory reset on the console and again unplugged the battery. On this second attempt, the camera came up as soon as the car was in reverse. A day or so later, the video started rolling on the screen. After changing to park, then back to reverse, the rolling stopped.

As I mentioned in the video all I did was disconnect the leads to the battery and when the head unit restarted I had no additional setup/issues with getting it to be on in only reverse. Unfortunately, I don't have any good answer as to why you might be having that issue.

If you disconnect the battery. Won't it need the code afterward?

What if the entertainment console is the LCD black and white version not the colourful graphical one. I got the base model.

This is where I bought mine, s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DeHbC63 as far as I’m aware there might be a part number but this is also a 3rd party adapter. If you call your local Mazda dealership and ask if they have any part like this on file you should get an answer on whether they have a part # or not.

Technically 2017 would still be a 3rd gen Mazda 3, so it should still work I would pop the trunk liner off and see if you have the right connector.

Do you have parking sensors? Do they still work?

I do not have parking sensors So I’m not sure on that, the adapter didn’t mess with any of the electrical in the trunk.

@@thrapperone1833 does the sensors display on the camera screen in a corner? saw that in a picture. I don't wanna lose the sensor view as I believe is more useful but would be sweet to have both.

Yes they do, you have to disconnect the battery for 10 seconds after you’ve installed the camera to reset the software. Once you select reverse you get the camera & the car sensor graphic appears in the top right corner. I’ve been running mine for 3 months now without issue.
