Any AMG 45 model with that 2.0L turbo 4 is going to be a weapon, even though it doesn't have the V8. I mean over 350 HP from a 4-cylinder is already insane enough, and whatever engine AMG puts in ordinary Mercedes cars, it's sure to be very fast.

To say that the GLA250 is for plebeian buyers was kinda harsh. If that's the case, what would you call Rav4 or Honda CRV buyers? Destitute?

I think he means that for those that are looking for Mercedes or similar products. I test drove a CLA 250 and it was disappointing. It looks great and is a great size but the ride was harsh and the interior felt cheap not to mention the doors rattled when shut gently. I feel the CLA and GLA don't represent what an MB should be. The C Class and up are far better.

Djonkie Bonk It's Merc's entry level offerings that fall under entry level luxury cars, or almost luxury cars. I get what you're trying to say. It's his choice of words that I was trying to point out that was offensive to basic GLA and CLA buyers. I would not even call Honda buyers plebeian, much more Merc buyers.

If you load up the base gla with options, the price is getting up there. So 66k is not that bad. Plus it is more exclusive and probably will depreciate less down the road.

I found the car to have too much road noise for a MB, plus the performance package was way too stiff in "comfort" mode. It'd be interesting to hear your comments on a car without the performance package in comfort mode vs sport mode. Another great video. You know your stuff.

Honestly I don't care for push starts, so good for Mercedes on having a normal key. Why do people love push button starts? Is it that hard to turn a damn key? You got luxury all over the interior already. This is just nit picking now.

Clearly you haven't used a push-button system for a while, and then had to go back to a key-turn system. I was surprised at how much more inconvenient and time consuming it was, when doing constant short trips. I used to agree with your view, but not any more.

I have this 2015 AMG GLA45 model. It has a push to start ignition switch. I have never had to plug the key fob into the ignition switch.

I was looking at a 2015 gla45 with 16k miles. It looks brand new… I am a little scared because I am unsure about the maintenance costs. Is there a specific issue I should look out for before buying it? What are the common problems with this car and at what mileage? I know some of the gla 45 from 2015 were recalled, however I already checked the VIN and the one I’m looking to buy does not apply to any recall. Please help… I really want this car

3 things Mercedes does horribly: 1. Tablet stuck onto the dash as nav. It should be integrated. 2. Stupid "Smart Key" that is no better than a key from 1980. Needs push to start. 3. The 10 digit dialpad with letters. it looks bad, no car should have that. It looks like a 1990 home phone stuck onto the dash. That said, I love the GLA and the 45 sounds great with that exhaust! I would agree that the hard touch on the dash is disappointing on this car.

That's not the transmission making that noise, it's the exhaust. AMG has tuned the exhaust in this car to have the baffle in the sport mode. In the ECO and Manual modes, it is much less pronounced.

I agree. The MB 7G-DCT really needs some work. I've driven a B250 (parent's car) and then an Audi S3 for a test drive. The Audi DSG feels decades ahead in terms of smoothness, very noticeable at slower stop & go commuting speeds.

Any car that cost over $25,000 and up should have quality materials in the cabin. With this particular vehicle costing just over an eye watering $65,000 I better see no plastic other than door panels and part of the center counsel. I will get a Hellcat Charger for a similar price and have more power and room. Or even a Hellcat Jeep Grand Cherokee since Mercedes classifies this as an SUV
