more music than info wtf... and put the camera on the bed when dumping instead of filming the one talking please.
@Keinlicht9 жыл бұрын
tokslut This. A little music is fine but we got next to no info on the vehicle besides the bed
@slomotrainwreck9 жыл бұрын
tokslut I completely agree with you. They can't figure out that the rep for that company is there trying to show off their dump box and how it's unique, therefore the video guy wastes storage space, waste our time and bandwidth because he's clueless. If I were that company rep I'd be pissed off because they're NOT filming my PRODUCT.

In this day and age , what about idiot proofing ? It seems to me that you can put both pins in the front mounts and raise the bed crushing your cab . And what if you attempt to drive the truck or operate the dump bed with one or both pins missing? Personally I don't see why the rest of the world has to suffer for idiots but it is a sue society now days.

Great video. That dump bed design is ingenious. I would have liked some more information about the truck's engine; transmission; and drive system, though. Thanks Andre.

Here in Europe that van gross weight is 11,000lbs with a 5-5500lbs payload. Would retail at around $60,000
@chefdan879 жыл бұрын
Maybe for wealthy small farms, or landscaping company. But 4000lb payload is pretty small. Cool how it can dump in multiple directions, but $50,000? Its not $50,000 cool.
@dragonbutt9 жыл бұрын
chefdan87 Small wealthy farms probably wont care about its price. Landscaping companies prefer tilt-cab products, like the isuzu NPR series (comes with a crew cab option). A truck like this is probably going to spend its days on a golf course, private estate, or a ranch, doing very little in the way of hauling. The payload doesnt matter because Isuzu. The Price doesnt matter because Mercedes Benz.

Why is there always such obnoxious music in your videos? And why is it so often played at inappropriate times, like when one is actually trying to hear what the guy is saying about the truck?
@Cm22c9 жыл бұрын
An F550 cab and chassis with a dump body has more than 10,000 lbs. payload and will run about $40,000 BEFORE Ford's massive fleet discounts. Why would anyone pay $50,000 for this?
@okm889 жыл бұрын
***** Because Europe has no time for American piece of shit engineering with emission standards to meet.
@Cm22c9 жыл бұрын
2gud4umenglez The European market historically has had lower emissions standards than the US and markets that follow CARB, especially when it comes to NOx emissions, which is why diesels are more costly and rare in the US, and even why many of Europe's gas vehicles aren't sold here. Anyways, how does this justify paying $10k-$20k more for a vehicle with less than half the payload, less than half the towing capacity, along with the poorer reliability and the exorbitant maintenance costs of a German vehicle?
@okm889 жыл бұрын
***** parts are easier to get, its engineered in their country to their conditions. Its the same story with our Ford Falcons and Commodore's, parts are easier to get a hold of as they're made here, its built for our conditions and everyone knows how to repair it. Also what makes you think some European tradie is going to drive a F550?
@Cm22c9 жыл бұрын
2gud4umenglez I wasn't asking about the European or Australian market. This has nothing to do with my question. If a contractor believes paying $20,000 more for half the truck is wise, that man should seek a head doctor.
@TheMatzemann9 жыл бұрын
Well if somebody doesn't need a payload that big, or he needs the vehicle to be light, I guess the Benz would be his choice I guess. It probably has a better fueleconomy. Here in Germany a pickup would be too wide and heavy, so a lot of companies use sprinters, almost no pickups here :)

@dragonbutt9 жыл бұрын
wantsanewvehicle Expensive yes, but sometimes a pickup and a trailer just isnt viable, like working in public areas, where you're really threading a needle sometimes. . Well, if you had a pickup with four-wheel steering, then maybe, but thats going to cost more than a mercedes sprinter lol.

Interesting system. That would be a nice system for landscapers and that sort of thing. These chassis-cabs will eventually catch on, if only for their cost of operation. I've seen a couple of the ProMaster chassis cabs running around lately, so at least some people think they are a good idea.
@chrisgalliher73129 жыл бұрын
1guyin10 It would be an alright vehicle for a lawn maintenance service that is only hauling leaves and grass clippings. Any landscaper who is hauling block, stone, etc. is going to need a truck with more than 4,000lbs legal payload.
@1guyin109 жыл бұрын
chris galliher Depends on what your business is. When I was doing it we did most of our hauling with a Ford F350 with a dump bed on it, which was about the same payload as this. It was fine for mulch, small loads of sand, pea gravel, etc.. If you are taking on big jobs then, yes, you need an appropriate truck or enough luck to have suppliers that are good about delivery. We had an excavation company we worked with to do our heavy hauling and any earth moving our Bobcat and little trackhoe couldn't handle.

MyassesDragon It probably disables it from dumping to either side (it seems like the pins are required to 'make it' dump to the side).
@dragonbutt9 жыл бұрын
I have to admit, i dont really like the pin system idea. Sure, it works great when you're just displaying it to people, but on the job? When the underbody and sides of your truck are crusted in mud and rock? Or when its apocalyptic with the weather outside? Nevermind that you can lose those pins (or they can be stolen). Typical mercedes sprinter fare. "Oh this looks like a good idea on paper. lets go through with it without field testing it thuroughly".
