@sdm07120 Your not far at all! I really don’t have a preference in brands.. I’ve mostly driven Polaris and Ski-doo but I don’t have anything against Cat/Yamaha. If I bought new it would be a trail sled for sure as that’s 99% of the riding I do. The new Polaris VR1 with the 850 boost sounds pretty sweet. I’d like to try out a The new Arctic cat Chassis also.

@Ride and Fun For around $2000-$3000 for prices in my area I’d say your best bet would be a Ski doo rev chassis 2004+ with a 600cc engine. For around 4000 for someone new to snowmobiling I’d honestly recommend a ski-doo XP chassis 2008 and up. With probably a 600cc engine. The ski doo rev XP is a good riding machine and the front end likes to stay on the ground around corners. The Polaris’s tend to lift the inside ski without any rider input. That is is you want to spend al $4000 or very close… there’s some good cheaper machines also. Ski-doo, Polaris, and Arctic cat all make some good sleds. And like I said for a beginner even a 600cc 2 stroke can be a handful, so I wouldn’t recommend anything bigger than that.

@Mark Bow Yes it didn’t hook up to well as seen on the GPS. I should of had the speedo going instead of Rpm’s I’m sure it would of showed a lot higher.

Pretty much any running sled with an Axys chassis is a steal at $3K. The Axys was the best handling snowmobile on the market until the Matryx arrived in 2020. However, it is never a good idea to buy a first year two stroke engine. For Polaris, that means to avoid the 2015 800 HO and the 2019 850.
