I think when Porsche tests it, they don't use launch control and just step on the gas and start counting from there. You could probably get 3.2 secs if you didn't try as much, but you could get 2.5 secs if you tried your hardest.

I work at a Porsche dealer and the highest MPG i've seen in a Turbo on board display is like 18mpg. I suppose if you drive like grandma and never spool up the turbos its possible. But its also impossible to drive one like that.

A new C7 stingray in 7th gear and eco mode will pull low to mid 30s. I had a 16 /M235i and in eco mode, I drove 150 miles. About 100 highway and 50 in town. I filled up at the exact same pump that day. My computer said I got 33.7, pretty good huh??? My actual mileage calculated, was 35.6!!! So that 3.0 straight 6 turbo is a true MASTERPIECE of engineering. I could believe 28-29mpg in this car. If you drove it like a grandma hahaha

In terms of video quality: yes However, while this guy throws around a lot of numbers, Chris Harris talks a lot more about the driving feel, the emotions it makes you experience and is probably the best driving motor journalist out there ("lets do some skids, shall we?"). I agree, these videos are pretty great, but in my opinion, Chris Harris is still on another level.

im not the biggest Porshe fan and just a year ago i didnt like them for the 911's. But ive started to appreciate their cars for engineering when i realised the feats they actually achieved. and to have all these cars in coupe or cab form (except for the GT's) might seem excessive which it can definitely be but think about the customer that might want the targa but he wants to have the fastest 911 available (most powerful one i mean) he can either get a targa GTS or go for a turbo S cab. it is a huge difference but to get either one he doesnt give up much of what he wants if you think about it.

I was so close to get a 997 turbo. Unfortunately Porsche policy of not selling parts or other mechanics are not allowed to work on the car, turned me toward gtr. There are garages who can repare a pdk for example but they use parts from other used pdks. Porsche charges you 20k for a broken sensor in a pdk. It's the apple among cars.

At 6:49, Porsche ALWAYS Underestimates It's "Performance Claims". The 911 Turbo will return 30+MPG at 65-70 mph Cruising Speed with the CRUISE CONTROL(as Opposed to Your Right FOOT) Controlling the Cruising. Let the Machine do it's JOB, and it will Preform above your Expectations!!

Automotive God's I've said it once before and I'll repeat myself here again. Porsche has been able to be the pain in the other supercar makers' sides for DECADES, by being able to keep up and beat their V8's, V10's and V12's... with the PERFECT and smaller 6 cylinder engine. Pure engineering prowess. For all the 911 Turbo fans out there, there is a video on here called the Two Second Club. Please watch it. You'll love the 911 Turbo even more.. One more thing. Jeremy Clarkson said that the air coming out the back is CLEANER than the air going in the front. How does Porsche do that ?

this is my dream car and one day, before I kick the bucket, I will have it ..... so far the fastest car I have owned is a camaro Zl1 but I don't drive it any more since I traded it for a caddy. ( gas, insurance and payments were another mortgage, lol) People have to dream big to get far in life. Nice review, I really enjoyed it.

Porsche is always modest about its cars actual performance figures. Maybe they don't want to scare their customers? LOL! I mean there's a big difference between 3.3 secs 0 - 60 and 2.9 secs. On paper, you might say "Really, 4 tenths of a second?" but if you saw two cars drag racing and they had those exact 0- 60 times, you'd notice the big difference on which car's ahead.

Nik Brudar stripped down versions of the Turbo. More Hp, Less weight RWD only, they are kind of GT3s with Turbos and massive horsepower.

I am pretty sure any media test vehicle won't see all of the manufacturer's mpg rating, unless it's a long term test vehicle. Because if someone is given a badass car and tell them to go put it through its paces on a back road for a day then only one thing happens. You, me, anyone is going to be driving that car like it's stolen and going through petrol at a rate that makes the company accountant's hair turn gray.

Video game fast? Yup that's the quote i've been looking for to describe every single supercar/sportscar out today, including Porsche. I would rather a Cayman S for a more purer driving experience but that's just my opinion. If you are gonna spend so much money on a car that is video game fast with everything done by computers and buttons, why not a GTR then? I am by no means a GTR fanboy (in fact I don't like any of these mute super fast cars) but the GTR is faster (if not more prettier to look at, heritage, comfort, etc..) than the 911 Turbo S and if speed and computer prowess is ur cup of tea for a good driving "experience" then just get a GTR and call it a day. My money goes to the Cayman S or the new BMW's (M3/4 and M235i) that are coming out, or even the American muscle cars with their raw appeal to driving. For me the 997 generation of 911's was the pinnacle of driving before the robots took over pretty much everything. Please don't come flaming now at my opinions as to some people, a raw driving experience matters more than everything else.

I'm pretty sure when tested by more people, the Turbo S will probably be found to be faster than the GT-R, just like what happened with the 997 model. Plus this is most likely a better car to drive and I personally find it better to look at and it looks more expensive.
