2015 RAM 1500 How to FIX Fuel Level Sensor Fail Don’t Drop the Tank ! REMOVE BED | Change Fuel Pump

My 2015 RAM 1500 Express RWD 5.7 HEMI was not reading the level of fuel anymore. I got tired of filling up the truck every two days and decided to just change the fuel pump.
I’m not a mechanic, but I’m a beast.
If you have basic knowledge of tools and cars/trucks, you can do this too.
I decided to not drop the tank because I did that on my 1999 Tahoe and it was kind of a pain in the a**
I found this method to be WAY EASIER ! Son I hope this video helps some of you guys 💪🏽

Just a heads up, if you have a crew cab, you're gonna have to drop the tank. The cab sits over the fuel pump, and blocks you from removing it.

FYI, I had my fuel sensor go bad (reading incorrectly) and put Diesel fuel cleaner (I used the Lucas brand) in my gas tank and filled with gas and it fixed the problem so far. It's been a month and a half (knock on wood), but it's been working correctly.

Just a heads up. I got the short bed with ram boxes and air ride. Just went through all of this to find out the fuel sending unit is under my cab.

Man with my luck i’ll lift the bed then when i go to put it back on i’ll realize my frame bent af and bolts dont line up😂 Honestly this is the best video i’ve seen about this though. Just basic tools, doing the bare minimum to replace the pump. And the tip about the clip is great. Do you have a link for that clip?

Damn, honestly I don’t think so bro, I would have seen them. If anything I would think they go in between where the bed and frame come into contact with one another? Almost like a washer/ rubber stopper? I’m not sure

Do you remember the size of the clip or part number. Dealer says you have to buy the entire fuel line and aftermarket places like Autozone, O’Reillys, etc, say I would have to bring it in to match up. Which defeats the point of getting it ahead of time if I don’t know what it is until I remove it or if it breaks.

It should bro, all the 5.7s have pretty much the same fuel pump. It’s a good idea to double check on the website tho, it’ll ask you to input the year, make, model, & trim to double check that it fits your ram 🤙

Fuel sensor works when its got a full tank but after it gets under half it starts to drop to empty and say fuel sensor fail. I don't want to end up on the side the road when I'm not sure how much fuel I have. Great video, going to plan on doing this soon. Thank you.

Save yourself if you have a 2014, 5.7 Hemi 4x4, 4 door you have to drop the tank. The pump is 1/2 under the cab and won't come out from the top only!

I’ve done this once before on my old 14 crew cab. Super easy to drop the tank. Best to do it when the tank is close to empty but super easy. I’m about to do this again on my 2015 crew cab. At similar mileage same failure 90-95k miles. It starts out intermittent indicating the sensor strip that sends the signal is starting to get wear marks on it.

**Crew Cab Owners** Does not work. Fuel pump too far forward, under the cab so you will NOT be able to access from above.
