2015 Ram Hemi, I replaced my sensor because of P018C code at 58K miles(I believe to be original sensor). Bought sensor from Amazon(with fuel line tool), a week for delivery. My ECO light, and remote start would not work with this failure. Engine ran okay. Took an hour to change sensor. Hardest part is climbing on top of engine to reach sensor. After replacement, I reset the code with my "Foxwell" reader, and everything is good to go! Thanks for video! Good job. Dale.

I had code P018C and replaced the fuel pressure sensor and it fixed the problem. I spent $115 including buying the fuel line remover tool which is a lot better than using a screwdriver. Dealership wanted to charge 150 just for a diagnostic even though i told them what the issue was. Save your money and do it yourself. I saved myself 300 dollars and if you have the fuel line remover tool it only takes about 30 minutes if that to do on your own.

First of all, thank you for having a good video for this. This is the ONLY video like this I could find. Secondly, I recommend going and buying the fuel line tool to remove the bottom portion. Don't want to mess up the clip with a screwdriver. It cost me $5 at Advanced Auto Parts. Definitely worth it! Thanks for saving me a lot of money by not having to take it to a shop!

This has to be the weirdest sensor issue I have ever saw, My light kicked on around 50k miles "Now has 76k" and I was having zero problems driving so about 6 months later my dad had one of those cheap cell phone app code scanners and it showed "Improper fuel air ratio replace MaP sensor" Well for 9 dollars I didn't argue but my problem still existed. Today I finally went to autozone, and was lucky enough to have the store manager scan my truck, and it showed on his code reader "Bad Fuel Pressure sensor/ Improper fuel air ratio" He told me he had never heard of that going bad so early, but this video has convinced me otherwise. My truck still kicks into eco mode, however it doesn't show ECO at the top of the monitor screen "Same issue you had" I'll be buying a new one tomorrow good to see that it's very easy to access now days, guess they learned their lesson, it was a pain when they had the whole assembly attached to the fuel pump above the gas tank.

This is exactly the problem that I have with only 67k km on it. I when to the dealer and their mechanic said that the sensor was bad so together with taxes, labor and part 325 $ this should become a recall, how can it be bad so early?

@@mikecioka1180 Sometimes companies get get away with it. My girlfriends Ford Fiesta also has a "universal problem" The cooling fans go out on ALL of them, at a low mileage also. It's better than Vortek getting away with their engines frying the cylinder walls 07-14 though, some of those engines barely made it 100k.

I just replaced mine today. The only issues I had was the bottom connector clips to the lower line. Just un clip it and pull it toward you. It's a safety to keep the connection secure. I used a line tool and It pulled the sensor end right out. Then I did the top red connector, both sides of it unlatch after you unlatch the red door part, then the red part pushes through to let the hose come out. Then I disconnected the power to the sensor, the gray part slides away from the sensor then you squeeze where the gray piece was and wiggle and it should come apart. Caution: my green "o"ring seal inside the connector, was pulled up, with the other piece, an the purple part was inside the sensor housing and when i went to put the old sensor on the bench, the purple part fell on the floor. It goes in the plug on the vehicle and the green "o": ring slides down over it. Then plug it onto the new sensor after you install it..

Always use a disconnecting tool for the line, you ever screw those tabs you're in for a surprise!!! Replacing that other line ain't a treat... Use the right tools for the job, it's cheap

Thanks for the video, just swapped out my son’s and the only difference was we didn’t have to remove the tube closer to the firewall. The new connector had a connection by the sensor. 2013 Ram 1500 Hemi 5.7

DUUUUUUUDE!!!! Great video!!!! Excellent step by step. I DID buy and use a disconnect tool for the gas line. I’d add two things though. 1. My system didn’t depressurize as much as your did so I had a bunch gas spray out. I had to make sure that the negative battery post was covered with a rag to keep the cable from accidentally touch it and sparking off the fumes. 2. Have a step stool handy! I’m 6’5” and couldn’t reach without one! 😂 Thank you again for this!!!!

I did this in about 35 minutes. I had so much trouble with all of the connectors, even the fuel line with a fuel disconnect tool. Just a tip, once I got up on top of the engine compartment and was able to pull the line upward and out rather than forward and out, it came out easily. Also it was 3/8" using a plastic disconnect set.

Good video thanks but theres an easier way. Instead of doing your step of removing from what you called metal adapter 3:15 . just under the sensor is a clip thats taped remove tape and pop the 2 blue clips and pull the connection apart and bobs your uncle! Thanks again 👍

Just replaced the fuel pressure sensor took only 30 mins to do, replaced due to eco mode not coming in and a engine light fuel pump moduel not communicating, I had a code p062a and u0109 wich should indicate the fuel pump, which I went ahead and replaced the code was still on previously I had 2 mechanics shops go through the fuel pressure everything was fine and all the voltage and resistance and grounds were good, so I ended up replacing the fuel pump control moduel engine line gone but still pending codes, a day later engine light back on, soo I found this video and now decided to replace the fuel pressure sensor, no pending codes and engine light gone.... for now hopefully it was the problem!!

Your eco mode was working. Whenever the check engine light comes on the eco will not display but it is still working

I ordered my part through Amazon right after Christmas changed it when I got it and now the lights back on so now I'm ordering it from the Dealer and going to install factory part hopefully that will fix it and that it's not something else causing the problem

It did, some times you have to reset it or disconnect the battery for about 30 mins

What were your symptoms before it went out , I’ve chased a problem where my ram gets up to 50 ish mph then drops to 1.5k and likes to surge and have a tough time getting up, when I step on it it ramps up to 2k but nothing between 1.5 and 2k

ECO mode is what’s prematurely destroying the cam and lifters in the HEMI engines and the best thing you can do for your engine is turn the ECO mode off by purchasing a programmer that will allow this to be done or put the truck in 8th gear by using the shifter on the steering wheel. It will prolong the life of yourHEMI.

@@matthewskinner1315 I don’t know for sure if I fixed the issue but I looked in to the fuel pump relay and found out that they have an issue where they don’t kick on so I found a fuel pump relay bypass and it’s been working fine since. If I unplug the bypass then I start having issues again.

My 2015 engine light went on yesterday my scanner shows P025B fuel pump module control. I have only 33,000 miles. Truck runs and starts perfect. I’m probably late but on Amazon’s they make a bypass for your fuel pump relay , since it’s soldered into the board you need to bypass it with the rear cig lighter fuse . Should fix ur problem and save you a big paycheck

Finally replaced my sensor to a 2016 RAM. Light came on a day ago. Look like the circuit board on my old sensor was burnt out. Paid $90 at dealership for part and a mechanic put it on for me. The mechanic never removed a K5 nor undo the negative terminal off battery. When he replaced the fuel pressure sensor the mechanic had to hook up his hand held system to reset the check engine light. Paid $45 to my mechanic for the labor. For $135 it worth it to have that dern engine light off. Seems like my RAM sound better and run better also. Ram not sick no mo. FYI...stop using that ratchet ass gas. Lol😂

Sometimes it takes up to 30 minutes for the cycle to complete itself before hooking the battery back up. Best thing to do is hook up to the scanner and make sure that is your problem and check the code if it’s a code for the sensor, then delete it and see if he comes back.

Nice video! Do you recall the OBD2 code you were getting? I got a P018C yesterday, and it looks to be pointing the Fuel Pressure Sensor low reading. The truck shows no symptoms of trouble, took it on the interstate and hotdogged it... if there was a fuel delivery issue I couldn't feel it. Thinking the sensor is just bad.

Saved myself about $2,000 bucks based on ridiculous dealer quote. Of course you didn't mention you are probably 7 foot tall with a 13 foot wingspan.... holy crap was this stuff buried way back there! I'm 6 foot tall, and had a good step stool and was still struggling to reach everything! Anyway, thanks again!

Ram does not use a maf sensor but the one you disconnect was the intake temp sensor 😇

North Florida Outdoorsman got it. Took way too long but didn’t know that gray clip came all the way out. Couldn’t find any videos showing or describing it and with a 6” lift it’s dam near impossible to get 2 hands back there to work.
