the reason Sam is afraid of clowns is because in the episode( I remember the name forgive me)where the clowns were and the kids wrote down their nightmares or things they were scared of and the unicorn stabbed the one kids dad with it's unihorn and farted rainbows but the creep in the basement was the the killer anyway Dean used to drop Sam off at that place to" go trolling for chicks" so that's git to be where Sam got scared of clowns right?

that’s not the reason but that episode triggered him😂 the first experience we got a look into sam’s phobia of clowns was an episode called “everybody loves a clown” in season 2.
