This is a video of my 2015 Chevy Silverado RCSB 5.3L with a Borla ATAK Crate Muffler and Kooks 1-3/4 long tube headers driving with the camera mounted on the rear bumper.

Hi just wanna thank you for this video I installed the cratemuffler# 400820 on my 2015 Silverado and in v8mode sounds amazing. Once the 4 cycle kicks in though the sound goes away lol. Anyway wanted to thank you for showing me this product. I have stock headers and 3 in straight pipes from the catalyst converter to rear with a 5in tip. I’ll post s video so you can hear how it sounds with stock headers in. Have a great day.

I just ordered the range disabler today for now I’m driving In M5 I guess it stays in V8 mode as long as you don’t go on the highway your fine. But definitely would like to do what you did with the headers one day.

It sounds similar to the gibson mwa right? I have the mwa installed in my truck thanks for your videos it helped me a lot deciding which exhaust to purchase.

Jose Fimbres I'm glad my videos helped. I have switch a few mufflers back and forth to compare since this video and come to the conclusion that this muffler has the deep chamber sound of the M.W.A., the crisp, loud and drone reduced sound of the Corsa with the rumble tone and rasp of the Carven TR. I really like it.

Did you have an engine light or any issues with this exhaust setup before getting the tune? Curious if the rear O2's are happy using the green kook cats with the lt's...

Yes. You will get cat inefficiency codes even with the green cats. I had to disable those codes.

Man this thing sounds beautiful. Did your tune remove v4 mode or did you do an AFM delete kit?

Thanks. The tune disabled the DOD but I plan to install a cam and delete kit soon.

Hey man, odd question. Do u shoot ur videos with a GoPro? What do u use to edit and upload? Everytime I upload my videos after shooting in 1080 they come out choppy and poor quality.

Mr5point I use a GoPro with their GoPro studio then export for KZbin for videos on and inside the truck. Then I just upload them using KZbin. When viewing them on KZbin, make sure you are on the right quality setting.

I have a 2018 Chevy 1500 crew cab standard bed. I’ve got the Borla atak Exhaust on my truck now and want to do long tube or shorty headers. If I run shortys I plan to keep the factory y-pipe and then run the 3” from cat back to this muffler. Will it throw a code? Same question with long tubes. If I run them but get aftermarket y-pipe keeping the cats I should add and doing 3” cat back with this muffler would it throw a code?

Shouldn't throw a code running Shorty's with stock y-pipe and cats but will throw a code with long tubes and aftermarket y-pipe. Even with cats, they still aren't as big as stock ones so you will get cat inefficiency codes.

Does the atak flow as well as a straight through? It has a bend and 4 mini cores? Also does it have usual packing material?

Borla claim their multi-core mufflers actually out flow a straight piece of pipe. It has some packing but I don't think much.

I believe it is a single 2.5 inlet and outlet muffler so isn’t restricting ?

Cody Sparks I sold it shortly after testing because it was almost identical to a straight pipe and I knew it would be too loud with headers and just not sound clean at all. I keep thinking about it because it is the only one, but it's not worth buying again for me.

@@mattofearle Thank you! Just hope it isn't too loud. Have the XR-1 3in on the 2.75 stock pipes and it has a high pitch to it compared to your 40943 video that I can't stand. I think the stock pipes are to blame, almost seems muffled from the smaller piping. And would like little louder. 👍

@@ej1025 I would recommend a straight 3" pipe first to see what you think. Then try the ATAK which will not be much quieter than a straight pipe but deeper.

Still a favorite. Pretty loud in the cab but not bad with drone.
