Have you ever towed anything with the cam and converter? if so how well does it haul a load ? Looking into a similar build but need atleast light towing capability

No this didn’t clap like you’re talking about unless I was using manual mode and pushing the rpm’s.

I've got the speed engineering headers and true dual 3inch system wanna get a cam and more sound. How much did the cam swap cost you roughly?

did you ever drive it without upgrading the converter? and did it push through and thats why you upgraded?

The stock converter is 50/50 with a cam. It did ok at first but I had to eventually swap it to a circle D 3200 single disk converter. Before that it would idle surge a little now and then

Do you think if I swap over to the carven tr it will make my truck a bit more quiet than the carven r , I’m just running long tube headers

Nope it’ll still be loud.

It'll be a bit quieter but not by a marginal degree if you need a drastic change in sound the biggest magnaflow/borlas you can get will help

Yo questions... I have the same yr truck stock. How much round about for that set up as far as exhaust n cammed?

For the cam kit install and retune it was $2500 and then another $1500 for new torque converter and e85 sensor with tune. Exhaust I just buy the parts and have a friend with a shop that welds it for me. Most places for headers and exhaust probably looking around 800-1000 depending on Brands and labor prices

Only thing I upgraded was the torque converter the transmission is stock.

Sounds mean! Do you have highflow cats? Also does it drone at interstate speeds or while towing anything? I would like a rowdy exhaust setup but would like to be comfortable towing 10 hours lol.

biggwigg338 I have not cats at all. My set up is loud and raspy 1-3 gear but once cruising at freeway speeds there is hardly a drone. It’s only loud when I really get into the throttle
