The basis of my admiration comes from the fact that they both aspire to provide support and opportunity to minorities, Homosexuals, immigrants, the middle class, college students, etc. They uphold the idea of equality and do so gracefully and sternly. I appreciate how much Obama has done for America - jobs, security, equality, opportunity, stability, etc. Both are excellent leaders in their own right for their individual ambitions.

This comment is 4 years old, and it's amazing to see how far Bernie has come since then. While he didn't win either of his campaigns, in my opinion, he's the biggest force on the left - at least for those under 40 - and he brought policies once considered "impossible" into the mainstream, like universal healthcare, tuition free public college, etc.

***** How is he worse than Bush ? During the Obama administration Osama Bin Ladin was killed, 11 million got jobs, 10 million have health insurance with ObamaCare, the banks and auto industry received money because of him to save thousands of jobs and the auto industry has paid back the load while saving all those jobs. He stands up for those gay people that are shun by republicans (they are people too), oil dependency is down and gasoline prices are going down big time because Obama has pushed for natural energy like solar and wind, and if he is the worse president then tell me why he is currently serving his 2nd term ?? Alysun you may hate him for a particular issue but as a whole he has steered our country away from the mess that Bush left. If you only like presidents that promote wars and serve the special interests of the fortune 500 companies and war material producers like Haliburton like the republicans do then you are NOT an American that thinks of other Americans. For us to go forward we have to clean up the greed of the rich and help everyone.......that's EVERYONE. Sincerely, a REAL American and not an ABC reporter controlled by special interests or followers of ignorance.
@ExclusiveLM10 жыл бұрын
***** you still don't get it do you Alysun. I give up. But, if you are half as smart as you seem on your icon pic, you will digest what I said and some day when your an older senior (which I'm not) you'll see the huge curve upwards this country took during Obama. Abraham Lincoln was despised by half of the country. But, what Lincoln did was incredible. Reagan was bad mouthed too. But, Reagan (a Republican) helped end communism in several countries. Clinton was really hated by many because of the Lewinsky cheating. But, when Clinton left office there was a 72 billion dollar surplus. My point is that many great presidents were hated during their presidencies. But, decades later their courage and decision making under an extreme amount of pressure lives on as a legacy of America. President Obama is one of those men, whether you realize it or not. Look at the big picture and don't just look at what happens on a day to day basis. Especially, when what you hear and see about the president is filtered through the eyes of Republican controlled tv networks, internet sites and print. None of those people that criticize Obama will be remembered 100 years from now. But, I'll guarantee you President Obama will be mentioned for centuries not because he was the first black president. But, because he steered the country towards progress with ObamaCare, saving the banks and auto industry and pushing for wind and solar power. Think about it.

***** Why don't you also try living on Minimum wage !
@koumoua17949 жыл бұрын
@ExclusiveLM did you know that during President Bush's two terms, he sent out multiple task force to locate bin Laden. Just because bin Laden was killed during Obama's term does not give Obama the credit. Plus did you know that with 11 millions on the work force, we now have over 20 millions relying on government aids such as food stamps? And as for the bailouts, Detroit(the automotive capital) is now bankrupted and banks executives had high bonus. Obamacare is a joke, where the healthy are paying for the sick's medical bill. He stands for gays and illegal immigrants to buy their votes. Gas prices was due to the Saudis trying to stop the USA from tapping into their own oil field. Yes, our oil field is two times of Saudi Arabia. Just like Jonathan Gruber stated, thanks to the stupid American voters, Obamacare passed, so was the reason for his second term. LAST BUT NEVER THE LESS, Obama took an oath to defend the US constitution of the United States of America, not to do what he believes is good for America.

I hate to be the barer of bad news but a lower deficit means nothing when you are are talking about trillions of dollars spent yearly which adds to a NATIONAL DEBT which is the real issue no one discusses and that has exceeded mega trillions years ago. Secondly the economy is not doing well more manufacturing has been exported overseas because our workers demand high wages for unskilled labor. They are also uneducated and ill equipped to compete in a global economy. Finally for all that doubt reality, out dependence on foreign oil did not diminish in fact in rose. The only thing that did diminish and the only thing I credit to Mr. Obama in his tenure which was that he bailed on two costly wars which only now we are seeing the trickled effects since we were spending billions per hour including oil, gas, and energy cost. Finally in short if Mr. Obama wants to leave office believing he has done a wonderful job fine let the man write books and retire in peace like all other presidents. In fact I hope the man enjoys his retirement. Me for one I will never relinquish the truth which is to say that this president has done more financial chaos to this nation than any preceding. The illegal precedents he has set both through illegal executive orders and unconstitutional actions will be only abuse and justified by future presidents. I hope president Obama enjoys his retirement where he can no longer do any harm to our country and its future generations.
