I bought a 2016 Toyota Rav4 Hybrid brand new on March 21, 2016. It has the Entune system as yours did. I liked it but I didn't love it. I would love to have what you did in this video. You have to buy an aftermarket unit for 2013-2015 RAV4. Some people bought brand named one, like Pioneer, which I think too expansive. The one I bought is very good. It's on sale price is $375. Mobile sale price is $360. And there was $20 over $200 coupon. So I paid $340 for the radio system. Also need to buy a Cambus to make buttons on steel wheel work. Cambus sale price is $30. I contacted them, said that I could only pay $25. They toke my offer. Total price I paid was $365. There were 2 reasons I bought from them: 1. Their unit came with all (convert) cables I need. These cable one side connect to RAV4 original connectors, other side plug in to the unit.

From what I found on Aliexpress, it seems that you need a canbus to get steering wheel control, the original backup camera, car info display to work. Most of the headunits doesnt come with a canbus. You need to install their backup camera. Does a canbus work with any headunit so I just need to purchase one separately? Because those who sell them together, sell it very expensively.

Mine is 2015 RAV4 LE. The head unit works fine. It came with Sygic GPS. When I purchased this head unit, they asked me if my RAV4 had navigation. If the vehicle has navigation, I cannot replace it with this head unit. I don't know why. You should be careful when you buy any head unit to replace your current one with navigation.

Please tell me if i need to do additional modification for rear view camera in order to have those turning lines change direction when i turn my steering wheel. Also i notice that it beeps when you get close to the wall when backing up. Do i need to install backup sensors or it is done by the head unit software

+John Farmer The first question: the lines change direction is came from the head unit. I replaced the stock head unit with an aftermarket one. The 2nd question: Yes I've installed parking sensors (see my parking sensor installation video).

OK, I found that you might not be able to download the file to your computer directly. The site asks you download file to 360 cloud, which you have to create an account. Creating an account is free, but it's all in Chinese. If you cannot read in Chinese, there is another way to download. At download page, right side on the download button, there is a bar code. You can use your cell phone to scan the bar code, than download file to you phone.

Canbus is for buttons on steeling wheel. You do need one.

I don't need to do anything. It's just plug-in and play. When I bought the head unit, I also bought a canbus, which handles all functions of steering wheel control. So they connected the canbus to main harness before ship it to me.

+Sherman Llagas Why not? The aftermarket power liftgate does not change anything. It has its own control unit. So you don't need to change any wire.

There is a white 24pin plug with 4 wires connected. Pins 12 & 24 are the video feed and pins 11 & 23 are camera power. www.rav4world.com/forums/124-4-4-interior/195722-2013-rav4-radio-backup-camera-question.html Camera power from Entune is 6V, but most aftermarket backup camera needs 12V power. You can get 12V from brake light in the back of RAV4.

Sorry, 12v is not from brake light. 12V from brake light is for front parking sensor. You can connect it to reverse 12V. If you install rear view camera on tail gate, then reverse 12v will be very easy to find. Don't use power from Entune, since it's 6v, not 12v. +Khanh Do Feb 8 was Chinese new year. You'll not get answer this week. My head unit had “Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped” problem. If you search online, you can see there are a lot of Android cell phones have same issue. They sent me a new firmware. After upgraded firmware, the problem has goon. It works fine now. I've never had system lockup problem. Next week I need contact they again. I want to install a front view camera. I don't know how I can hookup the camera to the head unit.

Dear Cz Gu: after about 3 months of working pretty well, my unit stopped working. It only shows the Toyota logo just pulsating and nothing else. The backup camera works fine. I emailed the vendor. he tells me that i have to update the software. gave me the HTTPS: in chinese and the file is also in chinese. Assuming that the need for an update is the cause or that it will be fixed if i install the update, Q1: do you know where i can download a software (it maybe the firmware, but their english is very limited) update? Q2: if the unit is not working, how do i update it? there could be a key button sequence that may activate the firmware update. I appreciate all your help!

I think that you need to update firmware. I had same problem. Toyota logo, than reboot, .... never be able to go to main screen. I contacted customer service, his name is Sam. Sam gave me a link: yunpan.cn/cmAdnahe9TjHg It's Chinese site. But you can just enter d796 and click on right side blue button to enter the download page. In this page, you can see a blue arrow points down. That is download button, just click on it to download the newest firmware. The file you download is .7z zip file. Win 10 cannot open .7z zip file. You have to install 7z program to unzip it. Copy all unzipped file to a MicroSD card. Than put the MicroSD card to GPS slot which is on left side.

Maybe, I'm not sure. But the OEM head unit is very bad. If you search on line, you can find how many Entune stop working. Toyota even cannot fix most of the head unit problems. So I replaced it with aftermarket one.

i bought the same unit after seen your video. thanks for all your help. After i installed it, i had several problems because the instructions were very poor and not specific for the unit they ship. i worked through all problems, except 2: they provided one cable with connection to the new car DVD and 2-female USB outlets + one microphone outlet. the USB outlets are dead and they dont work. do you have any advise how to fix it? problem 2: they dont provide the means to reconnect the car console USB outlet, nor the AUX IN below the USB outlet. Do you have any advise for both problems? thanks.

+Carlos Auza You need to buy a USB port retention cable to connect to car console USB outlet. You can find the link above. This cable dos not support AUX, but it was the only one I could find for RAV4. I connect the retention cable to one of the female USB outlet. Got it. I will get the cables. I have the problem that the car DVD is not supplying USB signal to the dual female connectors supplied. So, I don't have the USB source anymor. Did you have the USB ports right away, coming from your new radio dvd?
