2015 Toyota Sienna Lift Gate Issue

The lift gate was knocked out of alignment some how. The dealer body shop fixed it.

Kimberly Radachy It was under warranty, the body shop figured it out. Have them check the striker plate and/or the alignment. Hope it helps.

My 2008 has the opposite problem. When I open it, it gets to the top and then comes back down. I almost got pinned by it when leaning inside to retrieve an item. There was a recall on the 2006 models for the liftgate malfunction. I hope yours was covered under the warranty as mine is not.

My 2018 sienna has the same problem. My dealership says it’s fine but I know they’re lying! I just got it on October 12, 2023.

The door was knocked out of alignment somehow. Took a couple time to get it figured out but the dealer finally got it.

Catherine Bunz The lift gate was out of alignment. The body shop realigned it and it works great.

same here I loosened the two 10mm bolts on the left tail light assy attached to the van held it to the left and tightened them again and no more issues

My problem is even stranger. My 2011 Sienna power lift gate will open but when I try to power close the door it just beeps. I tried everything and the door just won’t close on its own.

OMG. Thank you for this post. I had the exact same issue after UHaul installed the wiring for my hitch. UHaul didn’t know how to fix it until they saw this video LOL.
