2015 Toyota Sienna spoiler replacement.

Just a quick video for the location of the bolts to replace the spoiler/valance on the 2015 era Toyota Sienna. Was about a 45 minute job from start to finish with the replacement already prepped. All the bolts involved are a 10MM and were very simple to get to with a 1/4 inch drive and a short extension.
The replacement was purchased from a salvage yard so it was already painted and mostly ready to go. I did have to clean the adhesive tape off as well as the third brake light. Total cost for the repair was about 300 for parts and I didn't charge for labor. New MSRP on an unpainted spoiler from Toyota is about 750 list and then figure a couple hundred to paint plus the third brake light which was also broken and labor and you are looking at around 1500 for the repair. DIY FTW!!

I removed the 4 screws but it seems stuck is it just the rubber pads holding? And are they glued to the body?

There is a double sided adhesive foam strip that helps to seal it all down. You will have to pry up on it pretty hard to get it to break free or have a thin flexible blade to slide in between. You can see in the video where there is a strip that is partially removed about 6 seconds in. You will want to pick some up as well when you put it back together, it's often called VHT tape.

Where can I find the specs for the VHB tape. I see 3M makes a lot of different kinds oh VHB tape

www.3m.com/3M/en_US/vhb-tapes-us/ would be the best place you can look that I can find. Yes they make slightly different kinds but the basics are all the same and it's mainly width of thickness that differs. But it's the same stuff that the OEM's use to put it on in the first place so no reason to try and reinvent the wheel since it is mainly there to prevent rattles and give a little extra hold power.

@@StuMagoo around 1/4 to 3/8 inch wide will work. There is a little extra room where it is placed.
