This is hard cold fact that the Toyota Tundra is the ONLY truck in the world can tow the space-shuttle to its final destination. Beat that if you are dare...lolzzzz :)))

just bought 2015 tundra trd off road. did 5500km (about 3500miles) across canada trip to bring it home from east to west. drove 12-15 hours a day for 5 days straight and only thing i had to replace was windshield wipers from following semi tucks in the rain and snow. some highways in Manitoba canada was horrible for duration of 5 hours straight but truck handled it without any issues. i went for the reliability and didn't disappoint. im sure other brand of truck can handle these types of road trips but im only speaking from mine and one side of perspective.

The number one reason I drive a Tundra is because I know every morning when I wake up and I go out to it. So long as there's gas in the tank and oil in the engine it's gonna start and run and there will be no bones about it.

But sadly it doesn't because most stubbornly stick with there brand. Honestly in the truck segment its a close race but Toyota is steadily falling behind as far as innovation and Nissan not even being a player since 05 maybe?
@songthirtyone
@songthirtyone 10 жыл бұрын
It's hard to tell Toyota is the only one using the J2807 SAE standard to measure towing capability. Until Chevy, Ford, Dodge and Nissan start to use J2807 to test towing on their trucks it will continue to be hard to tell.
@TexasDragon3907
@TexasDragon3907 10 жыл бұрын
songthirtyone I have seen a f150 and a ram tow an airliner so if anything even with the current system that the big three (and Nissan) use you can tow more than suggested. Maybe not safely but the power is there to do it if you need to.

Love the truck and engine option for towing, but the lack of integrated trailer brake controller (with anti-sway) and locking diff option is a non-starter for me. Next year?

I've been behind the wheel of the SR Double Cab model and it is humongous, I stand 5'9" and I still felt like a dwarf, the pickup bed is deep it feels like a little playground. The one I tested was a 2WD with 4.6 V8 and it is an incredible work truck though I wish Toyota included direct-injection or cylinder deactivation to help with fuel economy, as an alternative for the Big Three the Tundra is a serious contender from my standpoint.

The pricing of these trucks will drive you crazy. $44k for an XLT and $50k for 1794 Edition. Then after a few options for that Tundra you could buy a Platinum F150.

Alex Cupples I paid 32.3k for 2015 Silverado 1500 LT with 5.3 V8 and all star package (leather seats, large infotainment screen and etc.) you don't need a premium trim. The MSRP was around 43k though. Almost 2 years later there are dealers offering to buy my truck for 28k today here in Texas.

And refuse to own a ecoboost. had one for a week. wasnt for me. want a v8. either want the 6.2gm or 5.7 supercharged tundra. i like the idea of retaining the factory warranty with the trd supercharger. tough choice. will have to drive both. i have a feeling i can probably have a platinum supercharged 500hp tundra for the price of a loaded up stock gmc. guess I'll find out!
