great video. would love to go lower bars on my 2018. i dont off road but do plenty on road. i feel my bike is light in the front end at speed, on windy days and during storms. i want more weight over the front tyre, but will have clearance issues with the tank and dash surrounds. any suggestions appreciated. suzuki dl1000xt 2018

Have you managed to do anything? I want to buy a vstrom1050, but the position is too upright, and it's not good for my lower back. I want to lean slightly forward

@@chrisw4215 ive had the front lowered(forks pushed up 7mm through the tripple clamps). its helped with a noticebly more aggressive riding position, feet a little flater on ground, and ive rotated my handlebars forward about 3mm. elbows stick out a little wide (good) less strain on my lower back. no probs with high speed stabilty. dont feel it turns in that much quicker, although the improvements do make you feel like riding more aggressive. bike still feels long, but im ok with that. still lightish in the front end, suppose thats the beak. oh, i got rid of the windscreen completely, 38000km no screen, even in winter. MY BEST MOD BY FAR.

Dumb question - why replace the old bars?

I wanted a little taller, a little wider, and a little less sweep back. It keeps my wrists from being bent, and helps with the numbness in my hands.

Are those bars the same bend as the originals?

They're pretty close to the same sweep back, maybe a little flatter but the width is wider by an 1" or 1" 1/2 can't remember.

Although they're not Rox brand, I don't like that type riser, I offroad and when you fall over the risers twist easily. Taller bars much better! 2014 V Strom 1000

Johnny, I agree with you on that, but I think with the adventure high bars, and the fat bar adapters I would have had to get extensions on the brake lines, throttle cables, and wiring. If I were doing a lot of off-road I would definitely go the other route.

@@VStromGarage mine is a 2014 I have 2" bar risers and stock bars, if you do a little adjusting there is enough slack ,I just bought Pro Taper Fat Bar clamps. Getting PT Cr hi bend will let you know..
